Julie|17:42 UK time, Wednesday, 20 February 2008

Ewan Murdoch, to be played by Chris Brazier, will appear in Shieldinch at the end of March. He started filming a couple of weeks before Christmas and he says the first thing he did when he got the part was visit the River City website. We didn't even pay him to say that ;)

Chris has already been in Hollyoaks and the Dream Team so you may recognise him!

Laura McMonagle To Leave River City

Julie|11:59 UK time, Tuesday, 19 February 2008

Laura McMonagle, who plays Zoe, has announced that she's leaving River City. Laura told us, "I've really enjoyed my time on the show but I've been there for almost four years and want to try new things". She's now signed up with an agent in London so, after leaving Shieldinch, she'll be spending a bit of time travelling between Glasgow and London, and is excited about the new opportunities that await her. The TV team are sorry to see her go - she's been a great asset to the show and they wish her well in her future career.

Laura doesn't yet know what her exit will be but hopes it'll be something really dramatic. However, she wants to assure you that she's not running out the door immediately! Zoe will be on screen until the end of the year. After all, she's got plenty happening on screen at the moment. We're just dying to see Ruth's face when she finds out her new best friend is the cause of her husband's STD…

Julie|10:48 UK time, Friday, 8 February 2008

Ever wondered what happened to mad Robert after he held Nicki and Shirley hostage? Well, he's turned up again. Maurice Roeves will appear in the new series of Skins on E4, alongside Michael Nardone, who you'll all recognise as nasty DCI Whiteside. It starts on Monday.

Photos Of Stephen & His Gran

Julie|12:28 UK time, Thursday, 7 February 2008

Stephen Purdon (Bob Adams) got an impressive 6 out of 8 in his Radio Scotland quiz this morning! He had to answer questions about his lovely Gran, Rose, but couldn't remember her first job or her favourite holiday destination. Oops.

Despite being a big River City fan (she says she watches both episodes AND the omnibus every week), Rose was keen to point out that her favourite actor is Robert Carlyle! We think she's pretty proud of her very own Bob Adams though.

Don't forget you can listen again to the show on the iPlayer within a week of broadcast.
