Over the last week, there have been a few news stories about the show you might like:

June Brogan's charity chippie opening - The Herald

Children In Need performance - Evening Times and Daily Record

Libby McArthur (Gina) is starring in Ann Marie Di Mambro's 'Ae Fond Kiss' at Glasgow's Oran Mor this week, along with someone River City fans know well - Ryan Fletcher, who played Vader. It's part of the 'A Play, A Pie And A Pint' programme and runs until Saturday.

There's an amusing mention of it on page 2 of this story in The Herald.

Children In Need Photos

Julie|16:00 UK time, Thursday, 16 November 2006

You can see some photos from the Children In Need video shoot in today's Scottish Sun. Don't miss the cast's performance on BBC ONE Scotland tomorrow night - we hope it'll air between 8.45pm and 9.45pm but as it's a live show the schedule is subject to change.

If you miss it, as a special treat, you'll be able to watch it online next week. You'll also find more photos from the video shoot here soon. Watch this space...

In the meantime, don't forget to visit the BBC Scotland Children In Need site cos all this dressing up and singing fun is for a good cause.

Montego Street to Ramsay Street

Julie|17:30 UK time, Wednesday, 15 November 2006

Ramsay Street sign

Daniel Schutzmann, who plays Marty, is going to appear in Neighbours! River City's taken a break from filming for a few months (don't worry, it won't affect your viewing!) so all the actors have a bit of time off. Last week, Neighbours was filming in London and Daniel shot scenes with Karl and Susan Kennedy. He's playing a celebrity footballer (just like his days in Footballers' Wives) called Pete Gartside and you can see him on screen next year.

So that's Daniel and Stefan Dennis who'll have appeared in both Neighbours and River City. We like that :)

You can read the full story in the Daily Record.

Great Scot! River City Wins Award

Julie|11:47 UK time, Monday, 6 November 2006

It was a night of celebration for River City at the Great Scot Awards in Glasgow.

The show won the Entertainment Award, which has been won in previous years by the likes of Brian Cox and Ewan McGregor.

And cast member Johnny Beattie received a very happy 80th birthday present as he was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations Johnny!
