BBC Symphony Orchestra at the St Magnus Festival - #2

Graeme Kay

Producer, Speech and Classical Digital Hub, BBC Audio

We can relax! The BBC Symphony Orchestra truck containing all the instruments, some bikes and other kit has arrived on Orkney mainland; you can watch the truck disembarking from the MV Hamnavoe (the old Norse name for Stromness, meaning 'Home Port' or 'Safe Haven') on a rainy Thursday evening. It is 711 miles from the Orchestra's base at Maida Vale Studios in London, to Kirkwall, where the concerts will take place.
