Fifty Shades of Grey casting

Finally, the author of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, which kept people extremely occupied last year, EL James has chosen the lucky pair who will be getting to know each other very intimately over the next few months in the movie version of her erotic novels. There are no massive names, no obvious choices, no Ian Somerhalder, which was a popular choice for a lot of fans.

Instead, 21 Jump Streetactress Dakota Johnson(whoooooooooooo?) landed the fan-fic ultimate fantasy role of Anastasia Steele, opposite a guy who used to be in Byker Grover. Yep, new heartthrob-to-be (no doubt) comes in the form of Charlie Hunnam, who will be encompassing the most high profile pin up since a young Gary Barlow, multi-millionaire Christian Grey.

These two are going to have to produce some serious chemistry if the movie wants to live up to the very high expectations that we have of it. Boundary pushing-wise, I have no idea how they are going to satisfy the ideas and the lust of the 50 Shades readers. A nipple here and a bum cheek there just isn't going to satiate the hungry audience members. Will director Sam Taylor-Wood be going down the Lars Von Trier route in Nymph()maniac and shoot with adult film stars to save the actors' modesty? Or will they both go in all guns blazing? Hunnam is no stranger to raunchy sex scenes after starring in Channel 4's Queer as Folk but that was 13 years ago. I'm interviewing Antonio Banderas on Friday, I might ask him for his thoughts, seeing as Dakota is his stepdaughter. Can you imagine that family outing to the cinema...?

I'm not convinced by the casting, in fact I'm rather underwhelmed. But maybe that's a good thing. Low expectations means a higher enjoyment, right? Maybe I'll have to get my copy out and have another look to remind myself... Have a look and see what you think. Tweet opinions to @BBCR1Rhianna.
