Why should citizen journalists send major news organisations their content? And why should audiences want to hear it? The Daily Show asked these very questions with a satirical sketch about CNN's iReport. As with all good satire there are serious issues here burried in the humour and they apply to all big news organisations not just CNN. I've tried to set out why I think citizen journalism is really important and valuable in a Citizen Scoop interview ahead of Podcastcon (and the usual disclaimer these are my personal views not those of the entire BBC). But what do you think? How should major news organisations work with Citizen Journalists? What do audiences get out of it? And how do Citizen Journalists benefit?
