Ahoy bloggers! I thought it was about time I introduced myself to the online community before I head to China's coastal city of Qingdao.

I'll be keeping 5live listeners up to date on events from the British sailing camp throughout the Games. I was looking forward to it until one of the team messaged me on Facebook to tell me that "the weather sucks and you spend your whole time being very sweaty".

The weather will be the main challenge for them with light winds, strong tides and dense fog. Not forgetting of course the huge dollops of green algae. The same Facebook sailor likened it to pulling a seventies green afro off a rudder! He has a wicked sense of humour.

The team that won five medals in Athens four years ago are Britain's most successful, and the Royal Yachting Association believes that it is fielding its strongest team ever with nine medal hopes in eleven Olympic classes.

I keep in touch with some of the guys as much as I can. Ben Ainslie reckons Qingdao looks like Gotham City, while Stevie Morrison says there's a great pub in the middle of town with a live band that sing cheesy songs all night.

That's the gold medal celebration night organised then!

Morrison likes his music, but he and Ben Rhodes were forced to change the name of their 49er after getting into trouble with bosses for naming it after a track by The Kooks. Their new one is called Little Miss Pipedream courtesy of The Wombats.

I bumped into Ben at the British Grand Prix a few weeks ago. He was a guest of Lewis Hamilton, after the F1 driver took the wheel in high winds and choppy seas in the Round the Island Race with Ben on board - perhaps that's where he learned to drive so well in the wet at Silverstone!

Ben Ainslie, Athens 2004

Ainslie was very laid back in the McLaren VIP area. This will be his fourth Olympic Games, and he's only 31. He's bagged two gold medals and one silver already, and says his biggest pressure comes from within. "It's what I want to achieve".

Beijing could cement him as one of Britain's greatest ever Olympians. It's time do to business.

Juliette Ferrington will be reporting on sailing at the Beijing Games. Our FAQs should answer any questions you have.
