Keeping up with Jack White’s projects, side projects and side side projects is a job in itself…and this week is no exception.
After news surfaced online that he is working on the follow up to his 2012 debut solo record Blunderbuss, likely to be out this year, PLUS reports of limited edition White Stripes vinyl being released AND digitally releasing Dead Weather material to fans this coming Tuesday (Jan 14), we thought here on Now Playing we just had to devote a whole show to this multi-tasking musician.
So what tracks should make our Ultimate Jack White Playlist? It’s up to you:
* What about what The White Stripes classics, B-sides and rarities?
* Or, taking the lead from Jack ‘n’ Meg, maybe bands with husbands and wives, or partners? Like Fleetwood Mac, Stereolab or Low...
* Then there’s Jack’s musical output post The White Stripes – bands The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, or his many collaborations with the likes of Beck, The Rolling Stones, Jeff Beck, Bob Dylan, Electric Six, and Loretta Lynn, whose 2004 album Van Lear Rose he produced and performed on for example.
* Maybe we can delve into artists or bands from Detroit – the place our man hails from.
* OR just any other weird and wonderful connection you can think of…
But remember don’t forget to tell us WHY you’ve picked a particular track. There is a lot to choose from the man who evidently never stops working at the musical coal face but whatever the suggestions one thing’s for sure; It’s going to be all White on the night*
Make your suggestions on here our Facebook page, Tweet #JackWhite6Music, send us an e-mail or add a track to our collaborative Spotify and Rdio playlists.
* We apologise for any pain caused during the reading of that truly bad pun
