Fresh from playing a very special Maida Vale concert with Lauren Laverne on Friday, Billy Corgan and friends are back in the music spotlight this week.

After a 25-year career and numerous line-up changes, the Pumpkins release new album ‘Monuments to an Elegy’ on Tuesday (but you can stream it online right now). Not only that, but frontman Billy Corgan also presents an hour of his favourite music on this station at 1pm on Sunday. It’s a veritable Pumpkins fest.

Tom Robinson wants your music suggestions for this special Smashing Pumpkins playlist, which could include tracks by their early 90s post-grunge peers, fellow gothic alt rockers, artists they've been influenced by or in turn have influenced, collaborators or any other interesting musical connection.

The Billy Corgan & co degrees of separation are wide ranging and far reaching, and include associations (good or bad) with Jane’s Addiction, Butch Vig, Pavement, Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne, David Lynch, Zwan, Hole and even Mötley Crüe.

You can also suggest Smashing Pumpkins collaborations, covers… or any other interesting connections you can come up with.

Get your Pumpkins-inspired suggestions – including the reasons WHY - to Tom Robinson via the hashtag #Pumpkins6Music to help create a playlist. Comment on the Now Playing Facebook page, here on the blog, email nowplaying@bbc.co.uk or drag tracks onto our Spotify and Rdio playlists.
