The Mercury Music Prize is 25 years old this year.

On Thursday 15th September, eleven more albums will join the ranks of the 264 LPs which lost out on the final prize.

So on this week’s Now Playing we’d like to celebrate the ones that got away. Here is your chance to share your favourite Mercury nominated album that fell at the final hurdle.

The list of great nominated albums which were never crowned as winners will make you swoon. Even the Arctic Monkeys thought Richard Hawley was robbed when Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not was crowned the winner in 2006. FKA Twigs and Kate Tempest might have been favourites for the 2014 prize but should they have trumped Young Fathers?

Despite their historic fifth nomination this year, Radiohead have failed to clinch the prize. Not with OK Computer in 1997 (winner: Roni Size/Reprazent – New Forms), not with In Rainbows in 2008 (winner: Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid).
