This week saw the best music news story EVER.
Old-school hip hop fan Kevin Wells was in the right place at the right time (nods to Flavor Flav), when his beloved Public Enemy were left stranded in the middle of Sheffield ahead of their gig at the city’s Arena.
A taxi booked by the seminal group had failed to show, so Kevin did the decent thing and gave them a lift to the venue in his Ford Focus. Apparently they even sang Queen's ‘Bo Rap’ in the style of Wayne’s World. You couldn’t make it up!
Kevin had an encounter with his musical heroes that he’ll never forget, and that’s the theme of this week's Now Playing.

We need YOU to tell us about your moment of fan love. Have you jumped on stage to fill-in for an ailing musician? Were you among the hundreds of Foo Fighters fans who campaigned en masse and on video to get the band to play their hometown? Did you tour John Lennon’s childhood home with Bob Dylan? Are you the mega fan who paid a load of dosh for Wu Tang Clan's one-off album?
We want to know about times when fans had the ultimate up close and personal experience with an artist, or moments when artists have gone the extra mile and made a fan’s day. Playing guitar on stage with Bono. Taylor Swift paying off your student loan. Pet Shop Boys playing in your living room. You get the idea.
Get YOUR fan loving suggestions to Tom Robinson – including the reasons WHY - via the hashtag #FanLove6Music to help create a playlist. Comment on the Now Playing Facebook page, here on the blog, email [email protected] or drag tracks onto our Spotify and Rdio playlists.
