I’m half inclined to your conspiracy theory, Barrie, as the level of state incompetence and corruption could surely not result from chance alone.
But my alternative conspiracy theories are:
(1)We are being kept in the dark about an imminent Armageddon whilst those in on this fact (Cameron and the Lord Chief Justice) are into last-chance altruism (or nearly all truism) giving away all our UK treasures and forgiving all that trespass against us – just in case there is a hereafter; or
