i liked how stephen zoomed and angled right in order to deny the man in the background less screen time whilst he was munching away at something. More appreciation for stephen for realiseing that this is your blog and know one elses but gets no screen time himself, shame on you Dr K. Also your mick jagger impresion sounded alot like AHHHHH ahhh danny dyer ahhha aha aha aha ahhhhhh.

Stephen didn't do a cringe worthy Mich Jagger impersonation so I'm seriously tempted to say that I prefer his reviewing style.

Any sign of the Apichatpong Weerasethakul film yet?



The films 'Poetry', 'Of Gods and Men' have got excellent reviews on Time Out, which they believe are in the running for the Palme d'Or.

So we the audience are actually an odd bearded man with headphones? Crazy times.

I think if you spent that much time with Mark, at cannes, talking about films, you would end up only able to speak in short concise statements, it would be the only way to get a word in the conversation.. I await the next episode of the Stevem and Mark show

Or that perhaps it was a special camera powered by the shrieking, suffering pain of people that have your Mick Jagger impersonation inflicted on them. Writhing on the floor in fits, screaming and clawing at their ears...



Another mystery solved!

that Steevan bloke reviews like a teenage boy on his first date at fourth base. He looks like Steve McQueen just before he died too. No he looks like chewbacky from Bladerunner or whatever that TV series was called. No I know he looks like one of those Village People guys after they retired. No he's a fat Kris Kristofersoon in A Star Is Born. Can Kermit wear a curly wig so we can see if they work as a lookylikey double act? They could team up with those Briaian's Got Talent stripper / doubles. No I've got it now, its the guy from A Matter of Life and Death, the one who crashes his moterbike. That's who he looks like. Or a Norwegian trawlerman. Hs accent was quite 'scandy' come to think of it.

The Loach movie sounds a lot like the harrowing but brilliant BBC series 'Occupation' starring James Nesbitt.

I like the sound of Blue Valentine and Udaan - anything that can be described as "reminded me a little bit of Stand By Me" has gotta be good!

Just how many documentaries can be made on the Rolling Stones (yawn!)

Mark mentions Alexander Walker's reaction to Ken Loach's previous politic film "Hidden Agenda", surely he meant "The Wind That Shakes The Barley"?

It would be nice to hear or read a longer version of Stephen's review on this forum. Nice that the underappreciated tech guy get's to catch some screenings at the fest, some small compensation for keeping soundlevels from spiking during Dr. K's impressions.... they can't be paying him that much....

A very interesting week, and thanks for all that suffering on our behalf, but I have to know... whose hair is that in the gate in all the programme footage? Some of them were worryingly curly.
