MPFree travels the globe once again to source the world’s greatest free music. Today’s choice cut comes all the way from Dallas, Texas from resident singer / multi-instrumentalist Conor Youngblood.

This is taken from the EP of the same name, which was released last week. He played his one man show at SXSW this year and he has been said to be able to play around 30-40 instruments. Inexplicably, he’s still unsigned but continues to release EPs as and when he feels, many of them for free. He says: “The reality of it is that people don’t always want to buy music, I just want to make my music heard by as many people as possible.” Described as crafting a sophisticated sound “reminiscent of—but distinct from—indie greats Bon Iver and James Blake” he didn’t even know he could sing until a few years ago. In 2012, after graduating from Yale with a degree in American Studies, the artist decided to pursue a career in music.
