Listener Harriet has shared her #MemoryTape with us this week, originally made for her pal Patrick.
"I would love to make a memory tape for my friend Patrick.
I live in the United Kingdom, and Patrick lives 4700 miles away in Bellevue, WA.
It was his birthday on the 3rd of May and although we have become such good friends, we have only ever seen each other on screens. For his birthday I am trying to surprise him from the largest screen I can find.
I've been contacting every theatre and Cinema in Seattle, Bellevue, and Kirkland, So that I can hire a cinema screen to play him a surprise film.
Patrick loves music. And if you could play his memory tape it would be absolutely incredible and an amazing surprise to add in the video."
Electric Six - Danger High Voltage
This song was the reason we met, when I started to learn the ukulele, I was talking to my friend about what songs I should cover - She said I should so Danger High Voltage, so we looked it up on YouTube to see if anyone had actually covered it on ukulele before Patrick had. He does a ukulele cover every day on YouTube, he's been doing it for nearly 600 days so far, and has never missed one. We sent him a message, and have been friends ever since.
Squeeze - Take me I'm Yours
(Me and Patrick have a thing about Squeeze, we seem like the only people are age that listen to them. For his birthday I got Simon Hanson, the drummer from Squeeze to record him a happy birthday message.
Weezer - Across the Sea
This song choice is based just on the lyrics, about us being so far away, and now i'm on the radio. He also really likes Weezer.
The Bloodhound Gang - Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo
I originally got Patrick to cover this because we used to have innuendo competitions, but since then I used it as a backing track to part of his birthday video where i went around getting loads of people to wave a 'happy birthday Patrick' banner, and cut to a new shot every 2 seconds throughout the song
Rocky Horror Picture Show - Time Warp
This was the first song that he covered for us, just because my friend thought he would do it well. And he did. I'm also organising a flash mob for him on the 31st of May which may have this as the music, but don't mention that on the radio because it should be a surprise.
OK Go - White Knuckles
Patrick's going to go see OK Go in July, (I told him about when I got banned from the gym for trying to recreate the treadmills music video when I was younger and he wasn't surprised.) In July we are going to record a remake of the White Knuckles video and try to get it played at the gig as a surprise)
The Hives - Hate to Say I Told You So
I sent him a huge list of covers for him to do, and he chose this out of all of them, so i guess he likes the song.
The Smiths - This Charming Man
Because 'charming' is pretty much the only way i can describe him)
The White Stripes - We Are Gonna Be Friends
When we first met he said we should do a ukulele video together from the other side of the world. In the end we did - to this)
Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up
We always try to prank him from 4700 miles away. This one's for his rick roll's at work, but we've also ordered him over $200 worth of crab pate, got call-before-you-dig to mark up his lawn, and hired him a 60 year old, male, naked cleaner, amongst other things)
Verka Serduchka - Dancing Lasha Tumbai
This is not very 6Music, but we used to send him a remake video every monday morning, this one was probably my favourite although there was also
Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough
