“I saw Lauren's #TwitterMillion call to arms and decided to join her team. Initially I just offered babysitting to all my friends with kids but then realised that this was not maximising fundraising as many of my friends don't live nearby, or don't have kids, or, as in the case of twitter friends, don't actually know me from Adam!
“So, as a DJ, I decided to offer a mixtape for the min donation of £5. I have decided to make all the mixes individual rather than doing one and sending to all. I've carefully selected 300ish tracks from my library, across all eras and genres, and then picked 15 tracks for each mix.
“In the spirit of unity (which, given that people have given so kind to help people they may never meet, seems apt) I have decided to make 3 tracks on each mix the same.
“Track 1 is Sebastien Tellier - La Ritournelle, one of the most emotive pieces of music I have ever heard. Track 14 is Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen), which makes me laugh a little bit, but also reminds me of a lovely trek in Mexico, and has great advice to boot. Track 15 is Elbow - Puncture Repair, one of the best songs about friendship and helping others I have heard - it's amazing how much hope there can be in just 1 minute 48 seconds, and it sort of sums up what Comic Relief is all about I think.
