It's been all about the remixes this week on the MPFree front, and today is no different.

Today's free offering comes from Slow Waves and is a remix of Mary Epworth's Black Doe. The track has been streaming on her soundcloud site for a bit, but for a limited time only, you can now get your hands on it for free. It's totally not what I expected either. Well done Mr Waves.

Today's Memory Tape comes from Sophie in Newport, and we're back to boys and girls falling in love, as Sophie explains...

"I made a tape for my boyfriend not long after we first met in '93 and I called it Slushy Mushy Peas Please Love Me Do Too You I Love Tape. It was a tape of my favourite songs that were also lovey dovey type songs.

"However I later did 2 follow-up tapes. The 3rd one which I was really proud of was called Slushy Mushy III Peas Please Can I Have Some More, Ooer!! Tape.

"I trawled my record collection and arranged the titles of the songs to tell the story of us meeting to the present time. I hope you like it."

Your penultimate MPFree of the week comes from The Megaphonic Thrift remixed by Deerhunter.

The four-piece from Bergen in Norway have just released their eponymously titled second album and gave up their last single 'Tune Your Mind' to Deerhoof to play around with.

The Megaphonic Thrift recently completed a short UK tour, and will return to do festivals in the summer. A new single 'Moonstruck' is released on May 7th.

Many of you will be familiar with Angus Stone, one half of Angus & Julia Stone. Today we give away his gorgeous track Broken Brights, a glimpse of his forthcoming summer album.

Maribel are an Oslo based 5-piece whose 2nd album Reveries is released this week on Splendour.

Maribel supported the American dream-pop band Asobi Seksu on tour in Scandanavia.

Mark says "We had a few vans, and would leave the Cotswolds to seek fun and adventure elsewhere." They created the ‘Now That’s What I Call a Van’ tape collection. He still has a number of these, made with his group of friends; Hans, Bod, Geza, Bomber, Smurf, Dirty, Brian the Snail et al.

The tape selected is entitled ‘Bubbling Under’ (a 90 minute mix-tape).

Barefoot Atlas (iPad) This is a beautiful atlas app for iPad that lets you spin a digital globe, zooming in to tap on countries and things (animals, vehicles, landmarks) to find out more about them. Designed for children as much as adults, and optimised for the brand new iPad's ninja screen.

Strumify (iPhone / iPad) The latest 'learn to play guitar' app for iPhone and iPad this gets you to play a real guitar, and listens to you using the microphone, giving you feedback as you go. Free, but you pay for extra lessons in-app.

Hugmail (iPhone / Android) This app is designed to help you share your phone photos with elderly relatives - it turns them into lovely-looking postcards (with big fonts…) and sends them through the physical post for £1.49 a pop.

"I heard 'Buffalo Chance' by Neneh Cherry on your show the other week and it for some reason gave me the idea to make a mix CD for my sister, Becky. It will be her 2nd Mother's Day on Sunday, so I thought I'd make a mix for her and my niece, Ava (I'm sure Daddy, Ryan, will listen in too).

Today's MPFree may make you feel old. It comes from Spencer Tweedy who's the son of Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy.

The song was posted on Soundcloud recently as a demo version. It's still early days for young Spencer (he was born in 1995) but when you appear at Madison Square Gardens to play drums for your dad's band aged 13, then you've had a bit of a leg-up.

He originates from the Isle of Anglesey, but now lives in Leeds. His new EP A Marker and a Map, which will be released on Hide and Seek records on Monday 26th March.

Your Memory Tapes today is another tale of love, but this time it's a man's love for a tape... Jon Saunders, from Bolton, tells his story...

"I used to love cassette tapes. I mean, really love them. I didn't move onto CDs until they stopped selling albums on the format at the end of the 90s and even then, it was very begrudgingly that I switched onto this new-fangled format (It'll never catch on, you know)

"The best thing was always the mixtape, of which I made many and (quite unashamedly) I considered myself something of a master with the twin cassette desk record-play-pause buttons. Ne'er a clunk nor premature end to a song could be heard on one of my many tapes.

"Last week, I was busy relaying loft insulation when a small slip led to my leg puncturing the ceiling into the spare room. What a dreadful mess. I spent all of this weekend trying to sort it, and came upon a (very large) box of my old tapes.

"The dust-covered chore of sorting through the debris was brightened considerably by reliving the memories held in a tape titled: "What A Nice Day"

"I think this was compiled about 2002, and was the default tape to grab when heading out to the car on the sort of day that demanded windows be lowered and appropriate tunes blasted."

Today's MPFree is another taster from the new White Rabbits album. The current single Heavy Metal is getting plenty of love from the show and the station at the moment, and now you can get another track from the album for free.

The Brooklyn band released their last album, It's Frightening, back in 2009 and Monday will see the release of the follow up album Milk Famous on TBD Records.
