Post categories:

Jon TeamlaverneJon Teamlaverne|17:28 UK time, Monday, 22 February 2010

Previous Employee Of The Week, and now offical 'show family member', Ashley Fletcher will be keeping a daily blog for Lauren across London Fashion Week.

 >

Ashley is part of the team at 'House Of Holland'; the cutting edge fashion house based in East London. House Of Holland's show took place on Saturday.

Thursday's Entry:

So, a bit of a relaxing day, ish, as yesterday was just so busy! Peter Pilotto, Jonathan Saunders and Burberry.

 >

Starting with Peter and Christoffer, the boys behind Peter Pilotto, a cold one in the Selfridges car park. Everyone in London seems to be expanding on the signature pieces. Famed for making great prints and great dresses that make girls feel bloody gorge they have expanded the collection and made some really great day wear. Shoes by Nickolas kirckwood, AGAIN, lovely. Nick has actually done shoes for Richard Nicoll, Louise Gray, Meadham Kirchhoff, Peter AND Roksanda this season, and that's just in London. He also did Rodarte in New York and is creative director at Pollini in Milan. That's one busy boyo!

 >

Anyway, after a quickie coffee to get the blood pumping again we are off to Jonathan's. Again more day wear which is brill and even a few bits that I am going to try and squeeze my man shoulder in. Grade it up please. Very slick as always and a chance to say hi to heaps of friends who all came to support him.

 >

Burberry was a very fancy affair, viewed in 3-D in stores across the world from L.A. to Dubai. Equally, the clothes where able to stand up to the 3D scrutiny and the question was, which coat was going to be the one to get seeing as all of them where so lush! My personal choice would have to be the big army green wool military coat worn by the lovely (yum) Jeremy Young (we went to school together actually, brummies done good eh!) Great girls as always and great outerwear, just as should be. Also, just as at House of Holland, you could buy looks straight off the catwalk so I am sure that the best ones are sold out already. How very modern.

 >

So, then the choice of parties, Basso & Brooke or Jonathan Saunders. Well, stick with your friends eh? Much drinking and dancing at Jonathan's in Concrete in Shoreditch, conveniently placed so that I could stagger home in order to sort my face out for Men's day tomorrow. u g h.

 >

P.s. I might add that the best dressed male this week (apart from moi, obvs) has been LOVE magazine editor Isacc J Lock. More from him tomorrow, surfice to say we will be on the rampage.

Wednesday's Entry:

 >

So on Monday it was the Elle style awards.

 >

Start the day late and have to run, run, run to Roksanda Illincic show. The 70's disco sound track was just wonderful and the wilting flowers places on each seat was just so romantic, it really set the tone to a beautiful collection.

 >

Brilliant outerwear, great wool pants and who doesn't love a fox trimmed coat to wrap up in when it gets cold outside? Also, there was Christopher Kane. Embroidered women's Institute florals on Patent black leather jackets and skirts, totally original and really exquisite detail. Delinquent WI, who'd have thought?!

 >

Rushing across town straight after the show to go to the dress fitting for Leona Lewis for the elle style awards. Three hours to make some fashion happen from a hotel room, real easy to sew crouched on a bed. Our lovely Mr Holland was presenting the awards and he did a totally fabbo job.

 >

Lovely Aggy (Agyness Deyn) who missed the show (first one, boo hoo) made it back in time for the awards and into one of the dresses from the collection, black leather with shearling stripes in aqua. Bit warm maybe? After that everyone came to the New York, New York party at Sketch and then after one too many we headed over to Shoreditch House for Christopher Kane's party where much fun was had. I danced so much my shoes basically fell apart!

 >

Roll on a very tired tomorrow...

Tuesday's Entry:

Soooooooooooo, here we are. I know its Tuesday but I still haven't finished blabbing on about the weekend so, REVIEW TIME, the reviews for House Of Holland came on Sunday and were really good! Phew.

 >

All the journo's loved it and so we are all very happy indeed. Other friends of mine got really great reviews including Louise Gray who we love and also Richard Nicoll.

 >

Incidentally, I went to Richard Nicoll on Sunday morning and thought it was just so beautiful and so well excecuted. Equally, Meadham Kirchhoff in the afternoon was just beautiful. Nomadic Courtney Love with paper crowns and Care Bears hand painted on leather jackets, so brilliant (I imagine not for everyone).

 >

Party time! There was Matthew Williamson and Mulberry. Again, I still had to recover and sleep and after a few cocktails to knock me out I was home to bed.

Monday's Entry:

"So after a week of extremly long days and very short sleeps we are finally there (even the moms came in to sew this season, I HEART mom club). Up at the crack of dawn to get everything finished and off to the venue, in bloomsbury darling!

 >

"Backstage is the usual shinanigans with everyone in the way all of the time, including myself, and about 3 million people who you have no clue who they are but obviously have some very important role in helping the show happen.

 >

Seriously, this was the most hectic show I have ever done...EVER. The girls had literally almost less that a minute to change into there second look, and with our fabbo nails/tallons they couldnt even do anything themselves. (I didnt ask about WC ettiquet).

 >

"So after much 'ado' it's all over in a flash. Our tanned, talloned Down Town Chicks rocked out on mega wedges which even I cant walk in, to a pumping record and then everyone cheers! BrilliHENt (Henry joke).

 >

"I 'borrowed' some of the collection to wear to the party, a printed denim jacket and sweat top, worn with my jeans that are so tight they give me in-growing hairs (probs) and my new brothel creepers WOOO! A good time was had by all although most of us were trying more to stay awake!"
