Well today music lovers I'm allotting a little time to a name, new to me, that of young Ruth Theodore
who I first heard while driving on the A30 listening to very late night BBC Radio 3, in the always stimulating
    company of DJ Max Reinhardt.

    False Alarm !

Our good host's last offering to the nation was unnavailable to me last Sunday - no signal at
The Lizard ! So I'm off to listen again ( for the first time )

jarvis sir, I have a memory of seeing you walking a poodle up camberwell grove very late at night.... this would have been late 90's. I lived almost opposite the pub, The Grove. Our place was best described as tatty, almost derelict in fact although next door were a couple who worked in publishing. They were rich and introduced me to the toscani cigar. Very nice. In our basement lived Mrs Smith who must have been 80. I walked out some years later leaving Mrs Smith and a woman behind. The publishers may never have noticed.

anyway, did I dream you? did you ever own a poodle? did you ever walk up Camberwell Grove?

I need to update my files
...and thanks for a great show, let's hope you keep it!

I was so disappointed when Stones Roses cancelled for Glastonbury but decided to go and see what that Pulp were like instead. That turned into maybe the most memorable night of my young life, so thanks Jarvis and please play more Jake Thackray.

He was a Boy Scout, keen and clean.
He got presented to the Queen
And then he went and spoiled it all
When he offered her a Woodbine ... "

From the great Jake's ' Family Tree ' which turned up in the
car this morning on the i-pod shuffle.

More from Jake, absolutely, and from his friend and inspiration,

    Dear Mister cocker,

I am forever scrawling messages on my hand then forgetting what they mean. For example, I came home from work with 'JC' inked onto my left hand, and could not figure out why I had written it. So I decided it must mean 'Jarvis Cocker' and so have done a drawing for you. So check your email!

I'll very sadly be in work on Sunday, but will ensure my ears catch up soon.

Hurray for 6Music and all who sail in her!

    kind regards, Abi

Dear Jarvis, not so sure what you're supposed to do on here, but I remember especially The Beatles made it good to be alone!
"Equinox"...it might very well be longer days now but here in Dalarna, Sweden was no real signs of "spring" with minus 12C this morning and heavy snow during all of yesterdays Sunday Service!...No wonder I seem to have got a bad cold and feel lousy! : )

Please come to Peace & Love Festival in Borlänge, Sweden 28th June - 3rd July! Joan Baez has been here...couldn't go to see her but heard her eventhough we live outside of towncentre where the festival is being held. She even came to Borlänge just to visit a museum in January!( Many interesting and unique museums round this way...)Have never had the chance to see you anywhere before so I would love it if you could come here! You would be most welcome.

    Love, Eva

Hi, Jarvis! Congratulations for your new radio program from Spain. Wow, the interview with John Hurt was great. I love John since I saw him in I Claudius, and I think he is one of the best actors of the UK and surely the best Caligula an actor can do... But you are the worst "Petey" of the "Fantastic Mr Fox" I can imagine ( I´m kidding XDXDXD).;)
We hope to see you in Madrid or in Barcelona very soon with some new songs. You know we adore you!

    Dear Jarvis,
As I'm Swedish I thought that I'd add some "Swedish" links. The first link is a Swedish band called "Stonecake". This is a hit they had in the early '90's called "Tuesday Afternoon".(NOT the one by Moody Blues!) I loved it instantly and later found out they were from the same town as me, Borlänge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJNQgJmYgy4 The lead singer Tommy Liljegren is doing a tribute to Alex Chilton over Easter in Borlänge.

Here is also a couple of things with Swedish Freddie Wadling : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtQRa_0k-vQ with Sophie Zelmani

and an older one with "Fleshquartet": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTZADkpgwno

Can only agree 100%, that'd be amazing to hear, being a fan of both talents. Would love to see this happen!

I am a bit behind the time but just in passing re the Peter Blake interview, amused to hear that Stockhousen appears on the Sgt. Pepper album cover. I once went to a Stockhousen concert at the Albert Hall.
Very occasionally and quite casually I drop this fact into a conversation, well no one is ever impressed.
    The concert was pretty impressive.
