On the playlist: Lauren Wright - Kiss Me

Tom Young

Introducing online producer

Each week, a track from our local BBC Introducing shows is put on the BBC Radio 1 playlist. It then is played across daytime shows including Greg James, Huw Stephens and Sara Cox. This week it's Lauren Wright and her track Kiss Me. Have a listen below and tell us what you think of the song in the comments section.

Hometown: Lauren is a self taught singer-songwriter from Kidderminster, Worcestershire.

Style: The track Kiss Me was produced in Nashville by Derek Garten, who had worked as an engineer for Taylor Swift and the comparisons are inevitable... but that's no bad thing. Lauren does pop and she does it with style comfortably holding her own on the Radio 1 playlist next to the likes of Swift and The Saturdays.

You need to know: Proving that pop acts put the work in just as hard as hip hop MCs, dance DJs and indie bands, Lauren has already completed a tour of East Coast USA high schools, supported Misha B and played acoustic shows on the same bills as JLS and Britney Spears.

Supported by: Kiss Me was first uploaded to BBC Introducing in Hereford and Worcester in November 2011. It was played in January 2012 and has been a regular on Andrew Marston's show ever since. Check out the session she did for the show here.

Blog comments will be available here in future. Find out more.
