BBC Radio 1: APRE - All Yours

You must enable javascript to play content

Kent boys APRE are on the legendary Radio 1 playlist! You can hear their jam 'All Yours' being played by the likes of Greg James, Clara Amfo, Adele Roberts, Scott Mills, Matt & Mollie and Dev & Alice for the next seven days!

Supported by: Abbie McCarthy and the team at BBC Music Introducing in Kent

Style: Infectious indie pop.

Essential: APRE are indie duo Jules & Charlie from Canterbury who have been supported by Introducing in Kent. The band have exploded onto the scene with debut single ‘All Yours’, but they actually met at Ealing Chess Club of all places, and the owner used to let them to use the back-room to rehearse and record music! So far, APRE have released this track and an EP on their own label 'Beach 91’ which was aptly named after a sign on the Chess Club's Garden shed. This summer you can catch them at Barn On The Farm in Gloucester and Leefest, plus there's another EP on the way too. We can't wait!

You must enable javascript to play content

Birmingham's Lady Sanity is now on 1Xtra's playlist! Don't miss her track 'Froz' being spun all week by our pals Nick Bright, Mim Shaikh, Twin B, Yasmin Evans and Dotty!

Supported by: Our mates Louise and Jack at BBC Music Introducing in The West Midlands

Style: UK rap with a message.

Essential: Lady Sanity is a rapper and songwriter from Birmingham. She is influenced by Missy Elliot, Nas and Tribe Called Quest, and as a teen she began teaching herself guitar, music technology and song-writing. She released her debut mixtape ‘Construction’ in 2014 and since then has released some incredible EPs, music videos, and has played festivals such as Glastonbury and The Great Escape. Last year, Sanity was named GRM Daily’s Get Rated winner as well as recently receiving Best Solo Female 2018 at Birmingham’s Music Award ceremony. This year, Sanity traveled to the Gold Coast, Australia, to represent her hometown with a performance at the Commonwealth Games 2018 closing ceremony. The only way is up for this dazzling young rapper.
