This week’s BBC Introducing track on the Radio 1 playlist is Midnight by Rosie. After being nominated by BBC Introducing in York and North Yorkshire, Midnight will be played across Radio 1 daytime shows including Greg James, Scott Mills and Dev. It’ll also feature in Huw Stephens’ free weekly download, which you can pick up here after his Wednesday night show. But for now, listen and learn below:

Hometown: Rosie formed in the small market town of Pateley Bridge in Yorkshire. They are brothers Tommy and Louis Leatherbarrow (yes, a truly world class surname), Doug Wallace and Jaz Asquith on backing vocals.

Style: Midnight is the soundtrack to a party that’s on the brink of spiralling out of control… in a good way of course. Tightly packed into under 3 minutes, synths and SFX fly through the track underneath singer Doug’s throwback vocals. Best listened to while jumping around like a loon.

You need to know: Like many of the unsigned acts we feature, the band are still studying full time at Newcastle University. They finish in a couple of months before hitting the road for festival season.

Supported by: Midnight has been played by BBC Introducing in York and BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire many times since it was uploaded in January. The two stations have also supported a number of earlier singles by the band in their various incarnations.
