BBC Radio 1: Olivia Nelson - Never Too Much
Our gal Olivia Nelson is on the legendary Radio 1 playlist! You can hear her track 'Never Too Late' being played by Huw, Clara, Matt & Mollie, Grimmy, Dev & Alice, Adele and Scott for the next seven days.
Supported by: The wonderful team at BBC Music Introducing in London.
Style: Fresh-faced R&B.
Essential: Olivia is a 22-year-old R&B singer from Ilford who has been championed by BBC Music Introducing in London and 1Xtra's DJ Target and Jamz Supernova. Olivia played at the Lexington for our Introducing showcase gig earlier this year and blew us all away. Olivia's classic R&B sound is influenced by her upbringing on soul bands and love of the iconic Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. 'Never Too Late' is taken from the songstress's debut EP, 'For You'. We loved the single so much that we've also made it track of the week on 1Xtra! It's out now and it's and R&B delight - go check it out!
BBC 1Xtra - Tinyman - The Mountains
TINYMAN is on on 1Xtra's playlist! Make sure you tune in to hear it across the network all week.
Supported by: Our mates at BBC Music Introducing in London.
Style: Hip hop.
Essential: TINYMAN is a an alternative hip hop artist and rapper from London who first uploaded to Introducing in June 2018. His feats are far from minuscule - he is the founder of hip-hop collective ORPHGANG and he has collaborated with Ray BLK, Jacob Banks and Che Lingo. 'The Moutains' is an absolute tune and the catchy beat was produced by Subculture. TINYMAN says that the song: “started when I was in Cyprus, every time I needed time away from the craziness and partying I went up to the mountains with the mandem on our quads and chilled out spoke about life and refreshed. It was like a mental and creative replenishment.” He's a refreshing, slice of hip hop and this is definitely not the last we've heard of TINYMAN.
