Tom Young
Introducing online producer
This week we have Man Can’t Fly taking the BBC Introducing slot on the Radio 1 playlist. They’ve already been played by Sara Cox (twice) and will also be heard on other daytime shows including Greg James, Dev and Scott Mills. Listen to the track Don’t Waste My Time below, share your verdict and find out a little more about the group too.
Style: For a group that only came together in the autumn of 2012, Man Can’t Fly have already settled on an assured sound. Don’t Waste My Time sees the band take from their range of influences (including Twin Atlantic, Coldplay and Mumford & Sons) to produce a complex dreamy alt-rock anthem skillfully built upon a simple acoustic guitar beginning. Not just flying but soaring.
You need to know: The band were inspired to come together after watching a hometown show by fellow Bradford band Scars on 45.
Supported by: The band were first played by BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire in January 2013 and have been passionately championed ever since.
Find out more: Connect with the very sociable band through their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
