LION is officially on the mighty Radio 1 playlist! Make sure you listen all week to hear 'Oh No'.

Supported by: Our mate Steph Nieuwenhuys at BBC Music Introducing Solent.

Style: Rock N Roll.

Essential: LION is Beth Lowen from Ringwood who has been supported by BBC Music Introducing Solent. She has been gigging since she was 14 and used to play and run music nights during her two year stunt living in the Gold Coast in Australia. LION's rocky edge is influenced by PJ Harvey, Sia and Alabama Shakes and her track ‘Oh No’ appears in her debut EP which is out now. LION currently plays as a 2 piece with her brother who plays percussion, guitar and backing vocals, while she plays rhythm guitar and lead vocals.

You must enable javascript to play content

Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn are on the 1Xtra playlist! You can hear their banging track 'Coconuts' being played by Yasmin, Mim, Nick Bright, Twin B and Dotty all week.

Supported by: The wonderful Melita Dennett from BBC Music Introducing in The South.

Style: Mellow rap with chilled beats.

Essential: Frankie Stew & are Harvey Gunn are a rap and production duo from Brighton who have been championed by Introducing in The South since 2013. These guys started making music together as teenagers and have since then honed a signature cerebral sound rooted in classic hip hop, grime and UK dance music. Frankie raps and sings while Harvey heads up the production and technical side. We reckon that if you're a fan of Loyle Carner, The Streets and Mura Masa then you'll love these guys!
