It was 'leap' day on Monday, so I needed something really special for my first BBC Introducing LIVE session of 2016... I got it, as you can see. Bossy Love are one of my tips for 2016 (check out full list of 25 is here) and quite frankly one of the most exciting bands on the planet IMHO!

Seeing their second ever show in October 2015 in Edinburgh, I was blown away by the sassy, sexy mix of street-smart hip-hop, funk, r'n'b, punk attitude and downright pop hooks. I wanted them in the studio ASAP and was delighted to get them - I've been telling all and sundry about how incredible they are.

Centered around Amandah on vocals and John on drums, with newbie Ollie added on keyboards; the band delivered a sucker-punch of three sweet, soulful session tracks LIVE on my BBC Radio Scotland show. We filmed it and you can now witness the energy and the band's raw talents for yourself. 'Body' kicked off, set the tone and had us jigglin' our jiggly-bits (watch it above); 'Sweat It Out' upped the anti, increased the heat and got us hot under the collar; then their Kelis and Andre 3000 cover 'Millionaire' sealed the deal - they made it their own.

What a band, what a session, what a way to start our BBC Introducing sessions in 2016... On the 29th February, our hearts certainly did 'leap' with joy for Bossy Love!
