It is my great pleasure as part of BBC Future Media’s Market Engagement team to produce the BBC Online Briefing events.
Our aim is to share with digital suppliers an insight into BBC Online’s plans and aspirations as well as to examine projects that have been delivered in the recent past. We hope the presentations help to contextualise some of the work that is being offered to the external market, and help you to understand the motivation behind what we’re doing.
In this last video speakers from each of the day’s sessions took to the stage to respond to questions from the audience, facilitated by our host Naga Munchetty. Videos of the preceding sessions can also be found on the BBC Internet Blog.
Speakers from all the Online Briefing sessions respond to questions from the audience.
This Q&A session included questions around teaching visual design skills as part of Make it Digital; the BBC's approach to open source technology and how the Our World War interactive video fits with findings of the ‘Digital Needs’ audience research. One particular question related to the budget split between online and linear, and exact figures can be found in the BBC's Annual Report.
The panellists are (from left to right):
• Martin Wilson, Head of Digital Creativity
• Jon Page, Head of Operations, BBC R&D
• Maureen Gore, Procurement Manager, BBC Future Media Market Engagement
• Carmen Aitken, Head of Audiences, BBC Future Media
• Robin Cramp, Project Manager, BBC Connected Studio
• Chris Sizemore, Executive Editor, BBC Knowledge & Learning
Thanks again to everyone who attended the event and those who have taken the time to watch some of the videos - we do hope you found the material useful. If you have any comments or suggestions for future Online Briefing events, please do drop me a line at mailto:[email protected]
Many thanks
Jake Bailey, Market Engagement Executive, BBC Future Media
