Council's quarterly jobs statistics have never been so interesting
Cornwall Council announced a recruitment freeze in October 2009. Three months later, council leader Alec Robertson told us that natural wastage alone could save nearly 1,000 jobs a year - that's 83 posts per month, or nearly three jobs per day. So far the recruitment freeze should have saved 250 jobs. I have been asking for the council's quarterly headcount stats since February and will post them here as soon as they become available.
