Swan Lake
- 10 May 07, 04:51 PM
Just can't resist this one.
Rhodri Morgan has just called into the office to be interviewed about Tony Blair's departure.
As he left we subtly asked whether we could look forward to a quiet weekend or not?
He nodded and added: "The one-legged swan is swimming peacefully around Cold Knap lake".
We think that's a yes.

I know from the url this is only meant to be an Election 07 blog but you have to keep this going even after the election dust has settled. I've not been so enthralled by political comment, and amused by these sort of deep political statements, for ages!

What about giving it a slightly more personal touch ? I would vote for 'Blogyr B^b Betsan'.
Or 'Bets'an Guesses'...
Or 'Merthyr Kearney'...
Or 'Betsanomics'
Or 'My name's not Bethan' blog..
Or 'Sitting on the blog of the Bay'
[That's enough dreadful ideas, Ed..]

I think leo Abse got Blair right when he said - A Labour party denying its socialism and unashamedly stealing Tory clothes in order to appear inoffensive to all, may claim respectability but, in fact, becomes a strumpet of party, for what are being proffered are fantasies, fairy stories, the delusion that without struggle, without conflict, we can have a society where we can live happily ever after.
As actor or performer doubtless [Blair] brought pleasure: his small step from stage to political platform in search of identity may have assisted him in his personal resolution but it left my Labour party shorn; he has taken away the identity of Labour and reshaped it to suit his own psychological measurements. This operation is described by his supporters as ‘reform’ I call it theft.

Blair is quoted as saying that the unemployment is down in Wales, compared to when the Labour party came into goverenment. He is quite right. They are all now employed by the assemble, and growing fast. What a waste of money

Now, now Mr Jenkins - if it keeps the miscreants off the street corners of an evening...
If they closed the 'Senedd' they might come and 'hang out' in your 'hood', so 'Be careful what you wish for'...
