Welsh Assembly election

Why do you have to have all those moving images behind you in the studio? Some people are unable to look at the TV screen because of that.

My first election with my partner who is Scottish. We both feel very excited about our first election together and believe a change is on the horizon.

Being from Ceredigion the sense that it is tight is very accurate it would seem, but the most disappointing thing for me was that nobody knocked on my door to convince me which way to vote.

Plaid won the race of the flyers by 16 to 9 however....all of which went into my recycling bag.

I'm emailing from Port Talbot - I think that Labour are in for a shock in Wales nationally - in part due to UK National Labour and Tony Blair but mostly due to local issues and the lack of performance of the Welsh assembly Government and its AM's - a sort of bloody nose for what has happened UK Nationally. What we are really looking forward to is the local council elections in May next year. Neath Port Talbot Council have set themselves up for a big fall. Locally there have been issues concerning planning approvals for filthy Power Stations, and other contentious redevelopment issues - it will be worth having your TV crew here next year.

As a final note - You look great on the TV - beautiful and smartly dressed - we should see more of you on BBC Wales News and Current Affairs.

I had always thought that given Plaid were on a down-turn in 2003 when they lost Llanelli by 21, they could retake Llanelli if they put a little effort into their campaign. My personal projection for the night is certainly no fewer than 20 for Labour - possibly around the 26 mark all-told, constituency losses likely to be offset by regional pickups.

As always Welsh assembly is first and foremost for the benefit of Welsh speakers in Wales..see this in education funding and in the public sector jobs being given to poorer candidates simply because they speak Welsh.

Secondly the Assembly is for the people in Cardiff and the Vale where they seem to concentrate as much investment as they can. Assembly seems to want one huge Uni in Cardiff with none elsewhere, similarly moving Merthyr's major Hospital facilities to Lantrisant. Point taken?

As for the rest of us in Wales we can just go to hell!

P.S. I speak Welsh as my first language but am ashamed of the way it is now used to disenfranchise the majority in Wales.

Oh and Rhodri was wrong. I have watched pre-election coverage of Welsh assembly elections on UK breakfast TV.
