EastEnders News Team
Ma-hussive congratulations to Khali Best for winning Best Newcomer at last night’s National Television Awards! Khali beat stiff competition from Coronation Street’s Marc Baylis, Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick and Hollyoaks’ Anna Passey to grab the gong, which was won by fellow Eastie David Witts for his role as Joey Branning last year.

The award was made all the more special as it was presented by Enders co-stars Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright (Mick and Linda Carter), who pretended to be disappointed when opening the envelope, only to crown Khali the winner!
Since arriving on The Square, dastardly Dexter has seen his fair share of drama – owing Phil Mitchell 10k, donating his kidney to his father Sam and failing to land the lovely Lola, who opted for Peter! But with his sights set on Nancy, 2014 could be Dexter’s year?
It was a fantastic night for the BBC, with Benedict Cumberbatch winning Best TV Detective for Sherlock, Doctor Who for most Popular Drama, Matt Smith for Best Drama Performance, Mrs Brown's Boys for Best Comedy and Strictly Come Dancing for Most Popular Talent Show.
