Tamwar Tales - The life of an Assistant Market Inspector

Poor, hard done by, downtrodden, browbeaten, walked all over (you get the picture) Tamwar. As Walford's Assistant Market Inspector, he's been subjected to a gang mugging in addition to constant daily ridicule from Kat & Bianca (among, many, many others). Then when he comes home and hangs up his clipboard, looking forward to some peace and quiet, he reluctantly endures yet more jibes about his love life, or lack of, from Masood and AJ...

But now, Tamwar fights back! Well... silently... from the safety of his own thoughts. He's been in one too many scuffles already this year, and doesn't fancy another.

We'd always suspected there was more going on behind Tamwar's sometimes blank expression, and now we can prove it in our four weekly short films, published here on the EastEnders website from Thursday 25th July. We're privy to Tamwar's innermost thoughts as he endures all that life throws at him; the excuses, teasing and daily hassles from his regular stallholders. He averts a security incident caused by Kim, encounters his dad fly-pitching, Harlem Shakes with Fatboy and then he meets Jean, where things take an unexpected turn...

Himesh Patel commented: "It was really fun working on the four shorts. It was like taking a character that we know and putting him in a different genre. Viewers who are a fan of Tamwar will finally get a look inside his head."
