It’s been quite a year for relative newcomer Richard Blackwood –and let’s face it, play Kim’s husband would be exhausting for anyone! But with an epic storyline set to unfold this Christmas, Richard Blackwood couldn’t be more honoured to be playing Vincent Hubbard.

“I’m very privileged to be in the show and however long I’m supposed to be in there I feel privileged for that. But even when I auditioned for the role, I said “Whoever gets this role, it’s going to take them to a different level.” Because with EastEnders – sometimes when you’re a punter and you watch the show you don’t realise how great the writers are. Sometimes, even when you’re acting the scene, you’re so caught up in the moment that you just act that scene, but when you see it play out you go, “Oh my God, these writers are on a different level.”

“So to be a part of this and to see myself on the screen alongside the legends that are sitting beside me and those behind the scenes, it’s still very surreal for me and I’m still not used to it. But you’ll be blown away.”
