Why we can’t wait to Face the Raven!

The Doctor Who Team

As we hurtle towards the series finale it feels to us like things are becoming ominous and even more exciting… Judging from the trailers (see below) there’s a lot to look forward to in the new adventure and here are some of the things we can’t wait to enjoy…

Ashildr is back!

Maisie Williams returns as Me, but can we trust her? Last time the Doctor saw her she was an eerie presence in the background of a photo, simply watching… Will she become the Doctor’s ally… or his adversary?

Rigsy returns!

We’re big fans of both Rigsy and Joivan Wade, the actor who plays him. He first appeared in Flatline and we’re looking forward to seeing what’s happened in his life after he helped defeat the Boneless. And what new crisis brings him back into the world of Clara and the Doctor?

Goodbye, Doctor…

We know Jenna Coleman is leaving soon, but could episode 10 be connected with Clara’s departure? Is she saying goodbye to the Doctor forever in this trailer? We hope not!

The secrets of the street...

In the introduction below, Peter Capaldi talks about hidden streets in London… But what is keeping them hidden? How? And perhaps most intriguingly – why?

Street fighters?

We’ve glimpsed a Cyberman in the trailer and know the Judoon feature in the episode… Will there be more old enemies lurking in the shadows, and if so, what’s their plan?

Write this way…

It’s always great to watch episodes by new writers and see the ideas and fresh adventures they bring to the world of Doctor Who. Face the Raven is written by Who newbie Sarah Dollard and we love this interview she gave about working on the show…

The world of Face the Raven

Sometimes the look of an episode draws you into it… The exotic alien locale of The Rings of Akhaten or the leafy London of In the Forest of the Night are obvious examples and we’re loving the visuals of this episode, from the narrow confines of the street to the breath-taking shots of the TARDIS flying over London with Clara hanging out the door… Hang on! Does it look to you as if she’s about to fall?

‘It’s a number and it’s counting down to zero…’

But what happens when it reaches zero?
