And the Winner Is...

We're delighted to congratulate an impressive array of award-winners and nominees from the world of Doctor Who...

Steven Moffat has been nominated in this year's Royal Television Society Programme Awards. Doctor Who's lead writer and Executive Producer scooped the RTS's Judges' Award last year and this time around he's nominated in the Writer (Drama) category for the most recent series of Doctor Who. And good luck to Doctor Who's other Executive Producer, Caroline Skinner, whose BBC series The Fades is up for Best Drama Series and also to the SJA team as Series 5 of The Sarah Jane Adventures is nominated for Best Children's Drama. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Tuesday, 20th March.

The SFX Awards 2012 winners included Doctor Who (Best TV Show), Matt Smith (Best Actor), Alex Kingston (Best Actress) and Neil Gaiman (Screen-Writing Excellence). Congratulations to all the winners, and fingers crossed for Neil Gaiman and director Richard Clark whose episode The Doctor's Wife has been nominated for a Nebula Award from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.

Staying in the States, nominations for the 38th Annual Saturn Awards have been announced and Doctor Who has been nominated for Best Youth-Oriented Series on Television. The Saturn Awards are presented by The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films, and have been running for over three decades. This year's winners will be announced at a ceremony in Burbank on 20th June.

Finally, good luck to our friends at Doctor Who Magazine. DWM has been nominated for an Eagle Award in the 'Favourite British Comicbook: Colour' category. Long-time fans who fondly remember The Iron Legion and Beep the Meep, and more recent followers of the magazine's comic strips can find out more or cast a vote here.

Good luck to all nominees and congratulations to the winners!
