Which Historical Figure Would You Most Like the Doctor to Meet?

The Doctor Who Team

The Doctor and Amy meet Vincent Van Gogh.

Yesterday we ran a piece celebrating Shakespeare's birthday and accompanied it with a new gallery. Looking at the images featuring people like Queen Elizabeth I and the Bard got us thinking...

The Doctor has met many famous figures from history. From Nixon and Napoleon to the Emperor Nero; from Doc Holliday to Madame de Pompadour. He's battled Daleks with Churchill, saved the world with Charles Dickens and unlocked mysteries with Agatha Christie...

But which historical figure would you like the Doctor to encounter?

It could be a famous writer, terrible tyrant or courageous explorer. In fact, it could be anyone you can think of... We'd love to hear your views on which famous (real life!) person the Doctor should encounter, and why you'd like to see it happen.

Perhaps the person you have in mind has inspired millions, been a personal hero to you, or maybe he or she is simply a wonderfully dramatic figure you feel the crew of the TARDIS would have a ball with! Let us know!

Update! Many thanks for your thousands of emails. We’ve stopped taking suggestions and have begun to sift through all the figures from history you’d like to meet the Doctor. We’ll be bringing you more news about the story soon!
