November 1966. A New Doctor. A New Era.

The Doctor Who Team

Mr Patrick Troughton

Patrick George Troughton born 25 March 1920 takes on the role as the Second Doctor between 1966 and 1969. Chosen for his formidable character acting skills, Troughton considered numerous ways in which he could portray his incarnation of the Doctor and eventually sided with Doctor Who co-creator Sydney Newman who suggested the Doctor could be a "cosmic hobo".

Loved by the public and hugely popular with his crew and co-stars alike, we'd like to celebrate his birthday which falls over the weekend by asking you for your favourite or most memorable scenes featuring Patrick Troughton as the second Doctor.
