What we know about Nardole

We’re delighted to announce that BAFTA Award winner Matt Lucas is returning to Doctor Who for series 10. Matt will reprise his role as the hapless Nardole, who first appeared in the 2015 Christmas Special, The Husbands of River Song.

We met Nardole in the year 5343 in the human colony, Mendorax Dellora. He was employed by River Song (“Doctor Song to you. Sometimes Professor, but mainly Doctor”) but didn’t appear to be all that capable. When he was sent to meet the surgeon contracted to remove King Hydroflax’s head, he instead returned with the Doctor… close enough!

Having survived the crash of the Harmony and Redemption on Darillium, Nardole and Ramone were working at the restaurant by the Singing Towers – well, Ramone was working, Nardole was enjoying some ‘me time’ – a prospect that he and River agreed was quite a challenge.

But hang on… last time we saw Nardole, he’d been ‘uploaded’ to King Hydroflax’s robotic body and was sharing it with Ramone! So how will the Doctor and Nardole meet again? We’ll just have to wait and see!
