A host of familiar Doctor Who names to appear in Atlantis

The Doctor Who Team

Sarah Parish as the Empress in The Runaway Bride.

Doctor Who may have finished for a few weeks but don’t despair, a host of familiar faces from Doctor Who will be appearing in the new series of Atlantis which starts this Saturday…. A year has passed and much has changed. With Minos dead, Ariadne is Queen and finds herself at war with her old adversary: Pasiphae.

Expect high-octane action adventure as Jason, Hercules and Pythagoras are thrust into the heart of politics and power in the city. With richly serialized storylines and complex character arcs, this is a darker, more dangerous time for our heroes: A New Dawn.

Sarah Parish (The Runaway Bride) returns as Pasiphae and Ken Bones (The Time of the Doctor and The Day of the Doctor) reappears later in the series as Melas.

You may also recognise newcomer to Atlantis, Amy Mason, from Torchwood. She plays Medea, Pasiphae’s niece.

Look out for other Doctor Who names including Robert Pugh who played Tony Mack in Cold Blood and The Hungry Earth, Peter De Jersey (The Day of the Doctor) and Ronald Pickup who starred in the 1964 episode, The Tyrant of France.

Atlantis returns 20:30 this Saturday, 15 November on BBC One.
