Nerves, Newquay and Scotland

Good afternoon blogsters - apologies for the tardiness of this blog - Mondays I am a bit busy at BBC London and now have a few minutes spare to devote to the task.
Am shattered today after a very eventful last few days - I have to say our trip to Cornwall was so good - had a great time in Truro finding a fabulous pub on an estuary - then playing buzz and hiding from Matt - very childish but hilarious fun! We all want Rach have her wedding reception at the pub as its just wonderful!
Then a real whirlwind day the morning in Truro - a massive thank you to all the food that was sent in! Overwhelming!! Muffins, Pasties, Flapjacks!
Then it was a quick dash across the hills to Newquay a swfit lunch at Watergate Bay - yummy fish and chips for me with the best mushy peas! I am a bit of a connoisseur on mushy peas now!
Still I have to say they didn't sit that well in my tummy as it was doing flip flops ahead of performing Camilla Ice. Had a proper exam moment mind going blank about ten minutes before we were due to go on stage - I must have looked properly bonkers back stage walking round in a ball gown tiara and gloves with loads of fake bling reciting dizzee rascal to myself. Anyway apprently the twins who carried me in were more nervous - although you couldn't tell and thankfully I remembered all the words and gave it all i had - even tho I was almost passing out without breath for a while - had to almost breathe through my ears!
After that at least I could relax a bit and then just bounce around on stage to the sound clash - don't tell Chris but I preferred Daves set!
Then as a treat we went out for dinner at Fifteen - we all agree the best food ever! A really talented bunch - Mr Carrie would have been gutted as we had his favourite champagne too. Sadly I couldn't have too much fun as was up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to go up to Scotland and film Annan Athletic for Football Focus -it was there first home game since being voted into the Scottish Premier league - its going out next saturday - a jackknifed truck, rain and broken camera tested us but thankfully it was all good in the end. Still got home at midnight and I have to admit the flight from Newquay to Newcaslte and Glasgow to Gatwick were pretty hairy at times - the rain clouds meant bumps and i don't like that!
Captain Underpants was up at the crack of dawn to do the London Triathlon - feeling a v bad wife as failed to get out of bed to go and watch! He did olympic length in 2 hours 33 - not bad on no sleep and carrying a knee injury!
Anyway am properly shattered today still and very much lookign forward to my bed!
Hope you all enjoyed the show at Newquay
Carrie x
