Eli says hi...

Chris Evans|19:28 UK time, Friday, 1 June 2012

...Live from round the corner from Radio 2. Blimey he didn't hang about either. Fifty two minutes from start to finish. And seven pounds thirteen ounces. Mum is rocking, Eli is sleeping and eating and then sleeping again. He's already got it all miles more sussed than his dad.

Have an absolutely fabulous weekend everyone. God save the queen and I'll see you on the telly tonight and on the radio live from Buck Pal Monday afternoon from 5pm for the big gig - all by royal appointment of course.

Peace and Love

    Hello Again Eli:)

Big congratulations again Chris & Tash, what an exciting time for you. I remember thinking when my son was born 'this is what life is all about'.

Looking forward to hearing you on Monday live from the Palace and then the big gig later.

I missed The One Show (am going to watch online as I must see the photo), the reason being I was in Birkenhead Park watching the Olympic Torch going past. What a great atmosphere was there, everybody so happy and friendly. We then went down to Woodside ferry terminal hoping to see it again, we missed it but watched the ferry boat taking it back over to Liverpool. We heard the music from the concert over there and thought about going across but of course it would have been too crowded and probably would have needed tickets anyway.

Sorry I've been absent for so long - much a-happening down here in Kent, but I've been lurking and keeping an eye on proceedings!

    Hi everyone:

So far, I am really enjoying the long weekend. Yesterday, was another cleanfest - kitchen cupboards this time! It really does make you feel quite smug when the cupboards are organised, doesn't it!

Cheryl: I caught up with the One Show yesterday - I could not be more pleased for Chris he is the happiest bunny ever!

Jilly: yes, Noah is so grown up - he is a gorgeous boy. He is so like his Daddy - he has Chris's mouth! I know that I am so lucky to have met Chris and I can confirm he is totally gorgeous!

Bingo: very well done on the 1st June prediction for Eli's arrival! You are awfully good at predictions!

Keith and Berni: how lovely you two have had a mini-meet! Always a wee bit surreal, isn't it?! I just can't wait for the Edinburgh meet in a couple of weeks!

Bids: lovely to see you, that's a big effort for you, with your poorly shoulder. xx Hope you have a lovely time at the BBQ.

MC: I have my Union Jack earrings to be worn the entire weekend! I agree, the Queen is wonderful.

Maddy: MrS and I watched the Bee Gees last night, too. They were just incredibly talented, weren't they? So sad about Robin - he wanted to live, so much.

Tomorrow, we are going for lunch to my sister's - really looking forward to it. We will be joining in with the ongoing celebrations for The Queen, so we may have to have a wee glass of bubbly, as you do!

    Have a lovely Sunday, everyone.

Well, I have had such a great weekend - loving every moment of it! We had a terrific day yesterday - I thought the concert was just fantastic. Sure, not all of it could appeal to everyone, but it was such a wonderful achievement by Gary Barlow to organise all that - why a guy, he must feel like he's living the dream.

I did feel for the Queen being there without the Duke, she looked quite lost, bless her. Beautiful speech by Charles - ooooh, I just thought the whole thing wonderfu!

Cheryl, thanks for letting us know today is Rips' birthday - hope you have a really happy day, Rips - I really miss you not being on the blog any more. xx

I feel guilty that I haven't done much this weekend. Went to visit the parents on Saturday and then to a friends for lunch on Sunday. Yesterday and today I've just been sat in front of the telly soaking up the Jubilee celebrations and feeling incredibly proud to be British.

Last nights concert was brilliant, give or take a few "singers" who couldn't actually sing!! But wonderfully put together by "Sir" (it's only a matter of time) Gary Barlow. Well done Gazza :)) This morning's service at St Paul's was dignified and now I am waiting for the balcony appearance and the fly past - what a weekend.

Got up this morning, back to work after such a lovely weekend, thinking "well, at least there is Chris to look forward to". Errr, no, he's having a week break, and quite rightly! Oooh, and I don't like to say it, but I thought RA was just so dimissive of Lynn this morning, and did not try a bit with Moira for the Golden Oldie spot. Things may have improved after I left for my train, but I was really disappointed with this morning's show.

    Morning all,

I am enjoying Richard Allinson in the mornings, definatley my prefered choice when the big man is away from the dials!

I am sat in my motorhome awning with the rain lashing down outside here in Hamble! Forecast is for worse to come and for the wind to pick up....oh joy! Still it could be worse, I could be in work. ;-) I think I may pack up a day early and go home to our local pub to end the wet week off, that is if we can drive off this grass. :-(

Off to walk the dogs in my wellies, it must be summer!

    Keep smiling

    Hello everyone!

    Bucketing down here, nuff said!

Keith, I know several people who have returned home early from their hols, it's such a shame. At least the pubs are doing well out of the weather. I know our local is for sure. We were there on Sunday and they had a roaring fire. It's June, for goodness sake!

    AliB, are you awake??

Bids, Like Annie, still no sign of Ben! I know sometimes I don't get all my friends posts on FB, no idea why. It's very annoying.

    Annie, your nail sounds ghastly!

Sezza, have you removed the ear plugs yet? lol

    Hi everyone:

Just checking in, hope everyone is ok.

Annie: I am terribly fond of you, really I am, but I will NOT be looking at your thumb next Saturday! I can't even get through an episode of Casualty, so there is no chance! Sounds awful, though, you wee pet lamb. xx

Went out at lunchtime to pick up make-up for MsS from one of the big department stores which unfortunately is close to my office ... there goes another twenty quid I'll never see again! And, I then managed to get a nice wee pair of shoes - been looking for ages, couldn't find anything, but they were there today, waiting for me. Back to the office, all in 50 minutes - not bad, eh?!

Very "heavy" weather here - thunder is in the air, I'll be bound!

Enjoy the rest of Thirsty Thursday.

    C xx

  • Comment number 78.

Chrissie, you made me chuckle about your 'twenty quid'. If ever you get lucky enough to have grandchildren, I can assure you, it gets worse. So start saving now! Well done on the purchase of new shoes. When I have all the time in the world to shop, I can find nothing, but give me just an hour and I can move mountains!

Oh well, back to the tennis. Still raining here :(

    x

  • Comment number 79.

I think all 'us girls' can identify with the shoe buying thing.

It's also persisting down here on the borders - has been for about five hours. No sign of any thunder though, We're having a whip round @ work to buy wood for an ark !

Think I mentioned a neighbour's grandson recently. He has a very rare disorder and is having a bone marrow transplant today. I know you will all root for the little mite. Not a year old yet. Thanks ................ knew you would.

    Regards PJ

  • Comment number 80.

Pen: oooh, I can only imagine the cost! When MsS was born, I did think about keeping all the receipts for everything we had to buy, but after about 6 weeks I could hardly believe what it was costing, so ditched the receipt idea! I know what you mean - if you have time and money for shopping, you can't find a single thing. Give us 25 rushed minutes, and it's a result!

PJ: bless that wee soul - I hope everything will be alright for him. xx

    Hello everyone.

As this is a public site I feel the need to express my opinion without getting a backlash from anyone but that's your choice.

I feel it has become a very cliquey little circle here and if you upset someone by the written word, the ranks are closed on you. A bit like bullying in the first degree.

Yes I am old enough and big enough to deal with this, well actually I am quite small. LOL!.

I have made some lovely friends on here, some I thought would be lifetime ones, sadly that is not to be.

I thought this was Chris Evans blog but I'm not so sure anymore.

I hope to still keep in contact with all the lovely friends that I have made through this blog.

Marjie and MBD, I hope you still keep the number chasing game going, really enjoyed it myself. xxxxx

I wish you all well and every happiness for the future.

And to the person that doesn't think it is right to do a post when you leave here, sorry I must disagree with you on that one.

Lots of love to you all.

    Evening all,

Well ,hair all done and trimmed, and friend has gone home after a nice catch up.

We've had much the same weather here today ,and I'm surprised to see the gazebo still standing although it is wavering a bit in the wind ,so we will have to see what the morning brings .

Keith so sorry for you that the weather not been too good for you but as I know you well enough now ,I can honestly say that you'd enjoy yourself if you were knee high in the mud ,because you're that type of guy. Safe journey home to you all.

PJ , yes here too hope all goes well with the little one ,and please let us Know how the little chap gets on please .

Sorry you cant see the photo of Ben ,think you'd have to go to my wallto see it ,big tall lad now ,dont know what hes been eating lol.

And no me neither would like to think about the expense of our off springs or grandchildren ,ours have just raided their piggy banks ,so now the saving begins all over again .I must admit Crissie I did smile when you said that about the money just like Penny. but we just do it don't we and wouldn't have it any other way ,put it this way ladies what else could we do with it ...shall I leave a space below for you to fill it in ..lol..

Right folks ,just time for a night cap me thinks before that bewitching hour ,so I think it's going to be hot chocolate and a choccy biscuit.

    Morning blogettes:

I spoke to my neighbour last night - little chap's Grandad - didn't have the transplant yesterday - slight hitch. Definitely happening today. So please all cross your fingers again for him today.

Granny is up with the parents in Newcastle. Grandad has to stay behind because they also childmind their other daughter's son !

It's still raining here on the borders.

    Morning All,

Wet and windy here, but what's new! Has anyone told the powers that be that it's JUNE!!!!!

PJ, Be thinking of the little one today xx

While PJ is asking for positive vibes, please can I have some too for my Little friend, Tina, in Zimbabwe. She is very, very poorly. She has just undergone chemo for Leukemia and now has an infection which she can't fight as her white blood cells are very low. She needs all the positive vibes, prayers etc she can get. Thank you.

csn, I'll miss you, but we always have the other side ;) xxx

The only good thing about today is that it is Friday already. Yippee.

PJ, Any chance of a bunk on the ark?

Bids, Ooops to the gazebo! Hope everything else stays in one piece!

There was a big branch down in the road this morning. Luckily to the side but a bit un-nerving!

Chrissie, I have to take Boy1 and his broken phone to the nearest big town tomorrow - I may have to divert into the make-up shop while I'l there!

Anything to bring a bit of cheer to this dull day!

I have had enough of camping for this week, I am all packed up and ready to hit the road home, the wind and rain last night, cor blimey! ;-)

It is lovely to read you posts and look froward to the return of CLP on Monday for my drive to work. Yea!!! (that is for Chris's return and not work, just to clear that point up!)

    Morning again blogettes:

Sezza: Of course your bunk is booked ! Anyone else?

Sezza: Mr PJ broke a tooth over the Jubilee. Earliest appointment he can get is next Friday! Good job is wasn't urgent .............

The rain has eased to a drizzle at the moment. At least we haven't got the high winds - being on an airfield any breeze feels like a hurricane anyway.

Is it finishing time yet? Day dragging here.

    Hi everyone:

First of all, just to say to all of you getting the terrible weather - I really feel for you, it's no joke, I do know that. For some reason, we are getting away with it today - I hope it lasts! (sorry!)

PJ: hope the operation goes well today - what a worrying time for the wee boy's family.

AliB: I certainly will say a wee prayer for Tina - so sad to hear of her plight - it must be terrible for her.

Sezza: good luck at the make-up shop: what always unnerves me is when they tell me that if I only buy "this" product and not "that" one too, I will be unable to show my face to the world! Incidentally, MsS offered to pay for her make-up last night - MrS had to pour me a large whisky to get over the shock! (any excuse - yes, I know, Pen!)

    Happy Friday, everyone.

Keith, did you see the 3 big ships in their home harbour last weekend or was I imagining that was what you were going to do?

Anyone hear Lynn getting all excited over Carlos Fandango on Popmaster? Bingo, think you need to get back in there!!

Shh, whisper it quietly but I don't think it's raining as much as it was!

    Morning all!

Blimey o’reilly (sp), it can’t be June, more like November. Strong winds, cold and wet here.

Bids, hope Ken doesn’t get blown away whilst retrieving the gazebo!

PJ and AliB, got everything crossed for the poorly ones.

Chrissie, as a rule we do get an offer of payment, but we usually say, ‘it’s okay, don’t worry’, so they don’t! Lol. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

‘Large whisky to get over the shock! Yeah, yeah, where have I heard that before!? Hehe.

Hope your weather lasts too, I think there is a whisper we might get a half decent day tomorrow!

Talking of appointments, remember my gammy leg? Well, still got it and have to wait 2 weeks to see the doc! I think I’ll survive!

CSN, what’s up chuck? I’ll message you on t’other side in a bit.

Keith, safe journey. I’m also looking forward to Chris’s return. Have quite enjoyed RA, some good tunes have been played.

    Afternoon bloggers,

Ali & PJ - thoughts and prayers are with both children xx

It's turning a tad chilly up here but we have been very fortunate given what most of you have had to deal with. Hope it all blows over soon!

Well it's Friday yippeee and Chris is back on Monday so double yippeee and it's the Edinburgh blog meet next weekend so triple yippeee!

I have been listening to RA this week but there is something different about him and I can't quite put my finger on it still better than RM in my humble opinion.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to your weekend. Tomorrow I will be shopping, then hairdressers to get the sparkly bits touched up and a wedding receiption in the evening. Sunday I will heading down to the west coast to spend the day with family so busy one ahead which I am really looking forward to.

    Have a good weekend folks!

Just having a check-in, over a little break, and a cup of tea. I love Fridays, I really do!

Pen: so sorry about your continuing problems with the gammy leg - I did mean to ask about it. xx

Bids: I also meant to say to you earlier today, I am glad your poorly shoulder is holding up. How wonderful that you won't let your "drinking arm" deter you next weekend! xx

Mary: hiya, always lovely to see you. Have a wonderful weekend - it all sounds good. xx

Re: RA - I tried, I really tried, but this morning was spent in silence - even MrS couldn't believe it because I can hardly function without R2. I know, of course, that the show must be different with another host, but RA (who I really like, usually) was just giving me the hee-bee jeebies the last couple of days. But, isn't it great that we all like different things? Makes the world go round!

    Tea finished ... aarrrggh!

    Afternoon everyone!

Well 3 day weeks are great - but not when you still have 5 days work to fit in, so sorry for absinthe - anyway, just taking 5 to see whats been going on while I eat my late lunch.

I'm really hoping this wind is going to stop - at this rate I'll be rolling the 5K on sunday in my race for life not walking! Got a dilema too as STILL cant get my trainers on, so its a choice of nice patent leather loafers, fugg boots, flip flops or wellies!!!! might take them all and change at every Km marker.

Looking forward VERY much to Edinburgh and will definately be deserving of that first chards after doing 2 days back to back auditing. Anyone there Friday afternoon - feel free to join me if you are wondering what to do! LOL

right back at it, may be back later for a cheeky FNWC

Haven't caught up, but hope everyone is well and those coming to Edinburgh aren't too worried about the Legionnaires Disease - you'll be well away from it, promise.

It's the 6yr old's birthday on Sunday, Transformers all round but I have got him a blow up Olympic Torch as well.

Nothing else to report - how boring am I?

    Back in a bit. xxx
