Afternoon everyone, sounds like it's going to be a Scouser dominated One Show this evening, hurrah!

I was back in the 'Pool last week staying at my Mum's, amongst other things we went to the brand-ish new Museum of Liverpool and it was great!! I actually went two days running, on Wednesday we did a highlights tour which lasted an hour, then I went back the next day and spent a couple of hours wandering around the galleries. Liverpool has been transformed in the last few years and is really worth a visit.

Happy Birthday MC, glad you have had a good day.

I've just cleaned Ash's saddle and bridle, dinner's on and I'm enjoying a lovely Morgan's Spiced and diet coke whilst waiting for D to get home from work.

Sunday is going to be a busy day for us, in the morning, after I've ridden, we are going to where D's Mum's ashes are scattered to lay some dafodills from our garden, then my own Mum, Dad, Brother and his OH are coming for lunch (James Martin's Quiche Lorraine made with our own eggs), unfortunately they will need to be chucked out about 6pm as we are going into Glasgow to see The Four Tops and The Temptations, really looking forward to that, so Saturday will probably be spent shopping and doing housework.

I do realise Cilla is a national treasure but, like Maddy, I find her voice a bit sharp. And vinyl coming back - did it ever go away? Man in the cupboard has thoosands of albums and loves his vinyl. Loves the artwork too - brother did the artwork for Vangelis and Rondo Venicia and his friend did Frankie Goes to Hollywood - I have 2 of her prints on my wall.

That's my claim to fame.

Just had a lovely evening with Mr CSN.

Sorry if I have upset anyone by my number chasing. Sometimes in this virtual world people are prone to slate each other causing upset, I have done it myself and now wish I hadn't (doesn't mean I will not do it again). For example Chrissie got it in the neck today, but she is a lovely person and a very special friend to me in the real world. Maybe we should all take a step back and think before we post!

CG: really glad to see that Henry is already one of the family - just lovely. Sorry to hear about the sciatica - you sound very brave. MrS had this several years ago - I could have cried for him, he was in so much pain. xx

Jollygit: just lovely to see you - I really loved those days on Moose's blog - started a lot of terrific friendships, and connected us all to Mr Evans. I know I have said this many times, but hey, I am saying it again - Moose started the blog meets and for that, he must be applauded. xx

So, so much I could say about what has happened recently on the blog - this just happens from time to time. CSN: thank you, you know that I am very upset over what has been happening in the last couple of days. However, my real sadness is that our lovely Mary has been completely misunderstood. Her post regarding Chris was so true - at times we expect just too much from him, but I could talk about for a month on here, and still not be able to say how much I admire that man.

Lastly, I came home last night and said to MrS - I am just becoming obsessed with this song that I hear on Chris's show - "Somebody I Used to Know" - he said: oh, yeah, it's great - it's No.1 in the chart you know. Good grief, I had no idea I am living with the new Jimmy Saville!

Crissie have a lovely time tonight with your lovely daughter and friends,it's nice to carry on the celebrations ,will there be cake?? And another occasion to place into that memory box eh!

Actually I thought Mary was spot on the other day with her comments, Chris really doesn't have to do diggerly squat for us, but he faithfully keeps us in his loop. I'm glad for one that he does , I think we tend to take him a bit for granted and you should never ever do that.
With all that he does outside of his Breakfast Time show such as CIN and Wine and Dine and Goodwood ,and now hes organising (for us) the ordinary people a Car Fest how many others would do that ...and don't forget he's got to fit his personal and family time into all of that somewhere.

I don't post as often as I'd like or used to ,but I do like to think that I contribute something for people to read or not read ,Like cheryl said there is always the scroll down option.

I have forged some true friendships through Chris and will always be grateful to him for that ,but I also know that it could all end at the flick of a switch.

Did anyone give me a passing thought when they heard Bobby say '15min wait to get on to the Bridge'? Actually Bobby it was almost half-an-hour! And I have to do it all again tomorrow to see stepdaughter and new baby. Bums.

Well what a day !
It started off on a positive note , with plenty of sunshine and "blue" sky.
So I washed my car , polished it , and ....... then it rained ..... not only all over my car, but the washing and my freshly cleaned windows too.
I offered to cook tea tonight, and Mr Mc seemed to go into high anxiety mode, checking his will and life insurance. I found some Totelloni in the freezer , one packet had a use by the 17th June date stamp, and the other had a use by 5th November . I was confused by the fact that it didnt say which year, so i binned the June packet and used the November one. Anyway, after washing up i started my ironing, and shouted through to the living room to Mr MC , was tea alright? To which he replied, "yes, it was ok for a change ". Now do i take that to mean that it was ok for a change change, or, Ok as in total shock it was edible change ?
Whilst trying to work out his hidden message, i managed to wundaweb my work trousers to the ironing board .

Right, am off to find a glass of wine and contemplate.

Just been watching Take me Out, and feeling old and frumpy . I can remember wanting to go out at 9pm on Saturday night, now i just want my duvet and Pj's.

Hey ho , I may make my annual trip to the cinema tomorrow. I would really like to see this Marigold Hotel film, but my utter dislike of sitting in an auditorium with people muching and scrunching is getting the better of me. I am such a fuss pot about the cinema and theatre and can only just accept the fact that people can breathe in there, anything beyond that just totally tests my patience.

I am hooked on BFGW too, my jaw is permanently on the floor at some of the dresses, and the antics of the little ones 'posing' for the camera. I think it's sad that they don't see it as wrong. Each to their own I guess.

Wowser, busy busy week for me so no hope of catching up on everything, do know that the lovely MC had a burfday which I missed on comentating. Happy Belated one! LOL at your dinner story :-)

Big Boss Ladys right hand lady from US kept me out of mischief all week, in a good way though, nice lady with a good sense of humour so the intense meetings had a lighter side at times, but at times she was almost a caricature (sp) of a mid west american - lots of "awesomes" and we drove past "war-wick" - "do they have a caaaaastle there"

Anyway on account of the busyness of the week, today I'm mostly doing nothing! A bit of light washing duties and then bung a roast in. got the sequel to Phantom of the Opera, Love never dies on CD to watch and may partake in a penguin later.

Thanks for all the good wishes for my friends little girl - she's had surgery and is doing well, hopefully will start to keep her milk down and put on some weight.

I was up early with the tiddler this morning, so caught the end for the F1 on the radio (not willing to pay Murdoch for anything!!) which wasn't quite the same, but a good result, and I'll watch the highlights later!

MC - the image of you wundawebbing your trousers made me giggle last night - It's tricky stuff!

Not much planned for today - a friend is coming round to have a look at some clothes I found in the garage - you know the bag of things that you have intentions of getting into again? Well that is never going to happen so it's time to get rid!!
I also have to go through the freezer and work out what to do with what's left - it has to be eaten by next sunday! Oh and packing!!

Another beautiful sunny day up here. I spent most of yesterday spring cleaning my flat - did pop out a couple for times to enjoy the sunshine. Went a bit made throwing almost everything in the washing machine not such a good idea when I see the pile of ironing I have! So guess what I will be doing today? Before that I will be having a walk around our local country park and then hope to be celebrating after a certain footy game today ;o)

When I posted the other day my issue wasn't with the number game, I know there is a lot of silliness on the blog, there always has been and always will be. I was upset because of the complaints and criticism directed at Chris and I know I shouldn't let it get to me but I can't help it because I think the world of him - he gives so much to us as bloggers and listeners and I don't think he deserves what he sometimes gets in return. There are some days when I don't feel I can face the world but somehow Chris manages to revive me and for that I will always be grateful xx

Just listening to Steve - I am starting to think Bingo has a point - Steve Wright is a tremendous broadcaster - I am just getting in to him! And what's not to love about a song which has an incredible line like "yippee i, yippee i, ey" (The Look of Love) - brilliant stuff!

Bids, CSN and Annie: thank you so much - we had such a special evening last night - could talk about it for ever. One of the guests of honour is a lady who was our daughter's childminder. I remember so clearly the day I met her, and decided that, yes, this would be the woman who would look after our precious wee baby while I had to go to work to get money to help pay the bills. MsS had such a wonderful evening - it was magical and, yes, Bids - it goes in to the memory box. btw: there was cake - 21 candles creates a real heat!

Sezza: yes, it's nice to be nice - and I include myself in this. I absolutely hate it when I become frustrated and say something I normally would not say. xx

Bids: your post #35 - so powerful - one of the best things I have read on the blog - ever. xx I think your contribution to the blog is fabulous.

MC - I thoroughly recommend The Marigold Hotel film .... it really lifts your spirits. Me and 'im indoors went and saw it last Saturday and we picked the 12.20 screening because we thought it might be the quietest time - there were no more than 15 of us in the whole cinema and at 50 and 51 we were the youngest there, so not much noise at all! Chrissie's quite right though - go for the seats right at the back ............. if there is any noise you can always flick your popcorn at them!!!!

Right - we've just had bacon sandwiches and it's now time for a walk along the prom, prom, prom and then back to the homework grindstone - I've got to write a 2000-word essay so best wake those leetle grey cells up!!

Visited the stepdaughter and her beautiful little baby with daughter-in-law and she's gorgeous (the baby, not the daughter-in-law, although she's quite pretty too).

Sezza, my gorilla card is second only to the one the daughter gave me a few years ago - a raised picture on the front of the card which can only be described as a wicked witch - you know, where the nose (with a pimple on the end) meets the chin. My Mum and Dad have been for lunch and we've had a nice afternoon together. Yesterday I made my Mum some Shaun the Sheep cup cakes which she thought were hilarious. I also gave her a picture of the back end of two elephants and wrote on it "like mother like daughter" made me chuckle.

Beautiful blue skies here this morning ,but the temp is 1 so just above that zero.

I can't hang around today as I have loads to do ,my own fault for being so Idle over the weekend ,I really doing not a lot but oh!! boy regretting it now,and only myself to blame.

CG/Deev,hope both four paws are behaving and coming on now ,lots of fun ahead I can see Deev when you can get out and about eh!!

Just donning the ranty pants! There is a bloke in the office next to me who spends most of the day on the phone, speaking Indian! It's doing my head in! I still haven't forgiven him for talking all the way through the three minutes silence on the 11th of the 11th! These walls are very thin and I don't expect he realises just how annoying it is.....rant over!

Really not sure why I feel down in the dumps, I've absolutely no reason to but sometimes "the blackness" just takes over for no apparent reason. I usually bake when I feel like this, so perhaps I need to have a forage through my Marian Keyes or GBBO cookbooks and come up with something worthy!

I realise that some of these films are good, but on a day for the girls,mothers or not, lets have something we can sit and watch with a box of chocolates.

we sat down and watched "how to lose friends and alienate people" for no other reason than I could be bothered to flick through the channels or stick a dvd on.. it was quite funny in parts..then at the end husband hadnt finished his glass of wine so I started flicking..like you do, and came across Terry Wogan's Ireland.

I miss TW in the mornings..I love Chris and his programme he makes me feel awake, but I watched TW and just missed his voice..(maybe it was because i had had half a bottle of fizzy stuff)
I know he is on on a sunday but I dont remember to turn the radio on at the weekend unless I am in the car, which isnt often on a sunday.
So there you have it
I am still a TOG at heart
And a CYG ( chris' young gal )
and a mayo whatsit.

maybe it was the impending DOOM of RM. if I had a gun I would shoot the radio when he is on.

I was going to come on the morning and say that I feel really down in the dumps today - and I see Cheryl is in the same boat! It's horrible, isn't it?

I think with all the excitement over the last couple of weeks, planning everything for the 21st celebrations, and now it's all over ... I just feel really deflated! Still, it will pass, I know.

The main thing is that MsS had a wonderful time, as did our guests. I can't imagine how deflated one must feel if you've organised something really big, like a wedding, and then everything just has to get back to normal!

Cheryl: hang in there, hope your day will improve.

Sezza, Annie and Debs: hope you ladies feel better soon.

djeli: re: Terry. I listened to him yesterday for the first time in ages, and it was a brilliant programme. He and Deadly are just a scream together - if you have the opportunity at some point during this week, have a listen - it was such good fun and great radio. I do love Terry and was really upset when he left the Breakfast Show, but with Chris now at the helm, I just couldn't imagine mornings without him!

Think I will go for a wee walk at lunchtime and see if I can chase these blues away!

Thanks Chrissie - same to you, and you may be right about anti-climaxes and deflation. We had the excitement of the holiday, getting the puppy and stuff and now it's crashing back to reality and a growing sense of fear of the unknown with regards to my business.

It sounds like MsS had a wonderful 21st, thanks to having such a great family around her. You can't beat a close-knit family, and I hope you too perk up soon {hugs} x x x

Hello Everyone.

Maybe those who are down in the dumps today, it's because Chris wasn't around to lift us up. I used to get times when I was just so fed up with everything but the strange thing is that since I took ill in 2006 I feel much more stable and calm, nothing worries me and I appreciate the small things in life that I was too busy to notice before. We humans are very strange creatures.

djeli-I agree about nothing suitable for mums on the telly, there was only Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Mother's Day. Actually I've gone and done something which I normally have a rant over. I took part in the viewers question to try to win half the cash won in the show. I hate those viewers competitions where they offend our intelligence with such obviously simple questions, do they think we are all stupid or daft enough not to know it's a money making thing. Who would be so stupid as to put up their phone bill, well not me, I did it online which is free.

Anyway fingers crossed for a holiday in Dubai plus £26,000.

Just had a nice local butcher pasty for lunch - well you have to feed a cold dontcha,

got a riveting afternoon reviewing the US big wigs video'd presentations about how great we all are, what AWESOME things we have in store for us etc in prep for the board meeting tomorrow. Actually, dont get me wrong, I love my job as you know, but the americans, well compared to us staid brits, well, you know what I'm saying.

Maddy hope you get lucky the luck of the irish was definately at our pub on Saturday night we had to pop into the pub yesterday morning to drop something off and the bar maid Louise was checking her lottery ticket the conversation went like this:-

"How much do you get for 5 numbers and the bonus ball Phil"
"Thousands love possibly hundreds of thousands"
"can you check this ticket for me" as she passes it with a visable tremble of her hand.
"Sarah check the lottery website on your phone while I check this"
"Yep Louise you have got 5 numbers and the bonus ball" says Phil
"Crikey I am so skint at the moment and I need a new sofa, I can have a holiday too there are 10 of us in the syndicate" says Louise with the widest grin on her face.
"Louise the syndicate has won 110,863 pounds" says I.

I think the reply was "OMG"....

Can honestly say that I was over the moon for them all, that money will be like winning millions to them but not really enough for them to go too over the top and lose all common sense but could give them a bit of happiness.

Hubby on the other hand spent most of the day shaking his head going "£110,000" in disbelief, but as I told him its getting closer love its getting closer.....

Anyway unfortunately for us not being in that syndicate we are both back at work oh well hey ho!

MC I can sympathise with the tasering a colleague on a Monday I nearly linched on in the office on Friday afternoon so I can completely empathise with you.

Back to the grindstone then oh glad it was only one day of RM could fill my teeth grinding when I driving to work this month and that was just listening for 15 minutes, but heard Ken mention that he would be back soon for 2 weeks arrrggggggghhhhh!

The sun is making an appearance here, it was actually a bit icy this am.
I'm starting my healthy eating campaign today. I'm down to my last two Easter eggs at home, and Mr Mc took the remnants of the Christmas Quality Street to work today.
I have two apples and two bananas sat staring at me .......... for fruit on my desk, it must be like being on death row. And as for the Christmas cactus that sits on the shelf behind me , blimey ............ thats had more reprieves from the bin than you would ever know. Its all curled up and brown, but becasue someone brought it in way back in 1958 .................... we have to keep it . I have offered to buy a replacement, that actually flowers and would ,make the place look normal ...............
Anyway, I'm calming down a bit now, can you tell :-))

After I had a near-death experience just three weeks after my daughter was born, that taught me just how precious life is. I am seldom "down" but today was one of those days. I hope you win that competition! xx

MC: see what I mean about being as funny as John Bishop?! A Taser? - love that idea - don't ever, under any circumstances, let me have taser gun!

Debs: yes, our American cousins can, just ever so slightly, be a bit OTT. Love them, of course - I have dozens of American relatives, but, they can slightly overdo the enthusiasm.

CB: wow, if I needed a story to make me smile today, this is it! Just wonderful - how lovely for the lot of them. I can only sincerely say ... I wish I had had that winning ticket!

Hi everyone and Christoff Lambie Pie! Sorry to hear that some of you are down in the dumps. Here are some reasons to be cheerful:

1. The clocks go forward on Saturday, so we'll have lovely light evenings. Good for us dog walkers, Deevs (I have a new addition to the family as well).
2. It won't be long until the barbecues are out and the men of this nation are burning sausages whilst drinking lager and wearing slightly risqué pinnies.
3. It's almost Easter! The time of renewal, hope for the future and four days off work. And chocolate.
4. This summer, this country is going to be THE place to be. The Jubilee, the Olympics, England winning Euro 2012 (two out of those three are true).
5. Baby Evans! I remember how this blog went mental when Noah was born. All the blog aunties and uncles will be out in force again come May.

That's wonderful news for Louise and the syndicate. When the lottery began in the first couple of weeks the supermarket where I did my shopping and then crossed the road to the newsagents to buy my ticket. They won I think it was about £38,000 each. That made me think it was very possible to win but my optimism faded as the weeks went on.

Just spent the last half an hour trying to open my new security protected mascara. I know it costs a fortune these days and it's nice that they stop people from sampling it in the shop until there's none left but this is ridiculous. Thank goodness I was getting it ready for when it's needed otherwise I would have been late.
