it's not often a cover version is a huge improvement on the original - and there are several versions of The Marvelettes original - but I think The Beatles version is the best, a stunning vocal performance form John Lennon on what I think is their finest album, With The Beatles.It shows how far ahead the Beatles were, doing Motown covers in 1963! This is the track I'd really like to hear.It reminds me of driving on holiday in the South of France -myself and my kids all used to sing this when we driving about.

It's another of my campaigns to get fabulous Beatles tracks played, which, somewhat surprisingly, I don't think get enough exposure.

I know that must sound like a ridiculous statement,considering it's the Beatles I'm talking about, but it would be nice to hear the less obvious, and just as fabulous, Please Mr Postman.

By the way, our local secondary school is in the Guinness Book of records for the 850 dancers doing a contra-line dance (look it up!) to the sounds of Achy Breaky Heart! The staff, pupils & a few parents raised a lot of money for the Scottish Motor Neurone Disease Association a few years ago by doing this!

Well, interesting you should raise that point. I realised after I'd posted I'd made reference to lots of space numbers which is not the direct equivilent of sci fi.

However, I seem to be much the same as everyone else, who find it difficult to hold these two seemingly complimentary but quite seperate ideas in our minds other than as one and the same.
