Next week's themes...
From singing siblings to Careless Memories it promises to be another interesting week on the show. From this week I'll be announcing the themes in an online video which you can watch on the Get It On homepage.We'll film a new one every Thursday and get them up online in time for the weekend. "You'll need to remember to smarten yourself up on a Thursday then", said one of our online team. Ha! Was she hinting that my usual Mon-Wed attire is not up to scratch? I must admit that when I see my colleagues in TV strolling around the building in their smart shirts and shiny shoes, I am grateful that I can come into the studio in my crumpled jeans and t shirt and not have to worry. Apart from a Thursday that is.
As always I am keen to get as wide a mix as possible for the themes. Whether it's edgy and alternative or straight down the middle of the road, we'll always try and find a space for it on the show. After all we did play Kenneth McKellar and Biffy Clyro on the same show last week.
Monday
Clearly we won't want to miss Marie Osmond's 50th birthday so I thought we would feature singing siblings for tonight's show. It's brothers and sisters who both share a talent like Kylie and Danni, Ray and Dave, Craig and Charlie, Don and Phil....and if you MUST Matt and Luke...
Tuesday
Martin in Dunfermline suggests songs that feature words your kids don't like. So that's anything featuring fab, groovy or waay out! But I thought we might expand the theme and feature bands that make your kids ashamed to know you! And kids - do get in touch and tell us about the items in your mum and dad's CD collection that make you totally embarrassed?
Wednesday
Scotch Git suggests 'memory and recollection' as a theme tonight. So that could Johnny Remember Me, Carless memories, or Too Good to be forgotten. Don't forget to get in touch with your suggestions...
Thursday
Would it have been Elvis in Vegas, The Smiths at the Caird Hall or Spandau Ballet at the Blitz club. What are the best gigs you never got to. The theme has been suggested by Gaie Brown on our Facebook page. Tickets on sale Thursday night at ten past six...

Long story, short:- Springsteen tour announced. Work/holiday commitments made Hamburg the only viable option. Bought flights/booked hotel first. Failed to get tickets online. Travelled hoping to buy tickets at the stadium only to discover the concert had been postponed until 27 June (2005). Great weekend, great city, but missed Bruce.
