Pete Tong, Mambo show - Ibiza
So our 3rd show from Ibiza this summer went really well...I love going there...it's like a family. Familiar faces and places...plus with the sun shining it's not a bad place to work! Ibiza was noticeably busier than previous weeks - be warned if you're heading out I had to queue for over an hour to get a cab from the airport when I landed (tip - one of you run out and get in the taxi queue as soon as you land!!)So we broadcast Pete's show from above Café Mambo in a studio that looks out over the famous sunset. If you have never been to Ibiza make sure you head down to Mambo before 9pm and watch the sun set... it's got to be done! When we broadcast over there it's just Pete, a producer (which was myself on this occasion) and a BBC engineer so it's a small affair, and because we have been broadcasting from there for many years now it always runs very smoothly.
:: Check out the show
After the show I went down to Wonderland at Eden to celebrate Pete's birthday which was great fun...Radio 1's very own Jaymo and Andy were also playing so it was nice to hang out with those boys. There was a definite buzz on the island for Radio 1 in Ibiza weekend...can't believe it's less than a week away now! Myself and my producer Rachel have a very hectic week ahead preparing but I can't wait!
