
Esfandiar Adena
Head of BBC Bureau in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Esfandiar studied at the National University of Tajikistan during the country’s five-year civil war and gained his masters degree in sociology from Central University of Hyderabad, India. He joined BBC Persian in 2002, becoming editor and head of the BBC bureau in Tajikistan in 2009. Esfandiar is the BBC Media Action Fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (RISJ) for spring 2013, working on a research project on social media and governance in Tajikistan.
