News imageFor the past six months Steve Bowbrick has been BBC Future Media & Technology's "blogger in residence".

He's been investigating and advocating ideas around how the BBC could become more "open". Some of what he's done has been reflected on his blog "Common Platform".

Tonight, Steve will be discussing his findings in a special event at BBC Broadcasting House. On the panel we hope to have the Guardian's Emily Bell; the Telegraph's Ian Douglas; Jim Killock, President of the Open Rights Group; and the BBC's Tony Ageh.

From 6pm, you can follow all the discussion by following our Twitter feed. If you want to tweet about the event, please use the tag: '#openbbc'

Dave Lee is co-editor, BBC Internet blog, BBC Online, BBC Future Media & Technology.
