the sunshiney show...
Whoop Whoop! the summer is definitely, without a doubt, upon us. And to celebrate.. next week we are doing a Summer show.. 2 hours of music fully, one hundred per cent, dedicated to SUNSHINE.
Again, for all our themed shows, we need YOUR help. What songs do you think of when you think of the beach, festivals, ice creams, parks, picnics, carnivals or anything Summery like that? Off the top of my head I'm thinking Roy Ayers - Everybody Loves The Sunshine, I'm thinking Beats International - Dub Be Good To Me, I'm thinking Max Sedgely - Happy... do you get me? Well let's have your suggestions please!

Complain about this postYou can't have a summer show without
Summertime - Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Price.
Here it is the groove slightly transformed
just a bit of a break from the norm
just a little somethin' to break the monotony
of all that hardcore dance that has gotten to be
a little bit out of control it's cool to dance
but what about the groove that soothes that moves romance
....

Complain about this postLove the look of the recommended tunes!! (especially Gemma's) I'm gutted that I've only remembered about your show at midnight the last two Thursdays.. Cue: a slap to the forehead, and damning the inability to listen again due to crappy jersey internet. Got some summer sounds for you tho:-
Bedouin Soundclash - Shelter
Long Beach Dub Allstars - Sunny Hours
Sublime - Santeria
It's well hard thinking of summery dance tunes.. It's all about dub in da summertime.
I'm sure I could think of more but I should be working instead of wasting time thinking of sweet sounds for ya. And you've obviously got enough as it is...
Love your show, keep up the good work x x

The man with the red face- Laurent Garnier... OH YESSS it just makes you grin!
some other suggestions...
1) Nalin & Kane- Beachball (another classic)
2) Ruffneck Feat. Yavahn- Everybody Be Somebody (love it)
3) Nathan Fake- The Sky Was Pink (cos you know it reminds you of the sun setting!)
4) Bob Marley- Could you be loved (think festivals, sunshine and happy people)
5) Goldenscan- Sunrise (DJ tiesto remix) (those grins are back!)
6) Sister Bliss- Sister Sister (original club mix) (keep expanding those grins and feel the warmth from withinnnnn!!)
7) Marc et Claude- I Need Your Lovin (Like the sunshine) (Ferry Corsten remix) (SUMMER AT IT'S BEST!)
hope that helps a little annie- we are both now bopping around with these tunes as loud as they will go- this is what fridays are all about! ps loved the show last nite- HOW GOOD WAS THAT MINI MIX?!?!

Primavera 0, by the argentinian band Soda Stereo. It is a classic summer song (in Southamerica).
Chile: Cumbia Triste, by Gonzalo Martinez. This song is -really- hard to find, and not very popular... but you should really hear it.
and i forgot to suggest Colours by Ice-T, from the Colours movie soundtrack, for the rainbow show. Maybe next time! ;)
Reflekt - Need to be loved, classic beach song!! That one is a must!!
And... that beautiful song by Moreno Veloso, "Deusa Do amor", a fantastic house remix could be made with this song... where are you basement jaxx guys?
Ok, gotta go study now, keep rocking!
greetings from Chile!!

Loving the show and a definite can't stopper. Listen again to get me through each day!!!!
For some summer sounds its got to be Allied Force: 'Summer Madness' for some very chilled out soulful DnB, or maybe a classic from the Brazilian kings of DnB DJ Marky & Patife: 'So Tinha Que Ser Com Voce' or 'LK'
Keep up the good work!!
Mike

Complain about this postLooking forward to the Sunshine show. I'm thinking back to the late eighties, when I remember listening to 'Voodoo Ray' by A guy called Gerald over and over again one Summer ..but an absolute cert for your show must be another Gerald track, from the LP Black Secret Technology, called 'Finleys Rainbow' - had it in my head since you mentioned the Summer theme. Classic Summer tune - such apt lyrics.
PS about the age debate - the retro nature of my choices gives away that I'm a 30-something, but still obsessed with music of all kinds.
Complain about this postgreetings team mac,
