wow. thanks for all your sunshine suggestions for this week. There is a dark cloud hanging over Battersea (where I live) today so it's nice to think about sunshine, while it's (hopefully only temporarily) disappeared.

Am delighted this morning. I've had quite a nerve wracking weekend and I feel great that it's all gone without a hitch.

It began in Fabric on Friday, for my latest Annie Mac Presents night. Rachel from the show played and then Christopher Just (of Popper fame) played. He was the nicest man you could ever meet, he even brought us a box of chocolates from his native Austria! He played great and gave me loads of his new stuff which I'm looking forward to getting into. Then I played. I was drunk at this stage and played a messier, less cautious set than I'd normally play and it was fun. Digitalism played after me but I had to go home after half an hour as the rest of the weekend was hanging over my head..

Saturday we headed off to Portrush for The Beach Party 2006. Jon Carter and The Audio Bullies where on our flight and we all got in a car to Portrush. I went straight on when we got there and played to a few thousand very up for it people..my set was over in a flash and as always I wondered why I'd worried so much about it. I had my first ever dressing room and a massive rider and my fella and I made it our mission to get through it all by the end of the day. I met Norman Cook who was as lovely as I thought he'd be and it was amazing to watch his show by the side of the stage. He played to 20 thousand people which was nothing for him as he's been playing shows like this to half a million people in South America and Japan. The visuals were fantastic and he played a few tunes that I wasn't expecting him to play, like The Hustle by Simian Mobile Disco and this Richard Dinsdale tune that I've been playing out alot. It was all over at 11pm and I declined offers of going to see Linus Loves play at LUSH so I could get a decent night's sleep before my Top Of The Pops debut ths following day.

I got to the stage door at 3.30pm. Again I had a dressing room this time with a lit up mirror and a massive box of krispy kreme doughnuts to get through. I was worried I wouldn't fit into my dress by the time we had our dress rehearsal! It was all good though, Reggie Yates (Friday early breakfast on Radio 1 and regular TOTP presenter) was really nice to work with. The show was completely live and it went in a flash. The line up really impressed me, there was Muse, Guillemots (who killed it),Ray Lamontagne and The Frattelis live in the studio. After the show finished Busta Rhymes was due to come in and record a performance for the following week. I walked past him in the corridor on the way back to my dressing room. He was on his own chatting on his mobile, and all I heard him say was 'I love you Daddy'.

It's nice to know that even Busta Rhymes doesn't forget Father's day.

I had forgotten all about it till I heard it the other day and now I am convinced it needs to get played. I sound like a right lunatic now! cheers anyway Annie
