Naming a moon

Anne Diamond

I've got a great name for the new moon which they've found orbiting Neptune. She's a mere 20km across, making her the fourteenth orbiting satellite so far discovered.

Now, all the others are named after figures in minor water deities from Roman and Greek mythology. Not my specialist subject. But actually, from just a few seconds' research on an internet search engine, I have found a name that no-one has yet chosen for a moon, and yet perfectly fits the criteria. And it's Doris.

Doris, you see, was the mother of Laomedeia, one of the 50 Nereids, or sea nymphs, who dwelt within a silvery cave in the depths of the Aegean Sea. Since Laomedeia is one of Neptune's outer moons, I think it fitting that the new one be named after her mother.

Who do I call?
