The Last Days of 1984

Greetings new music aficionado's. This week behind the magic door lies three very different musical paths for you to choose. You may explore and enjoy each new musical highway and experience the variety of our three choices this week on that new band smell.

**********************************************

The Genuine Articles - Little Miss Goody Two Shoes

Cheeky, playful indie guitar pop much in the vein of The Fratelli's and The Courteeners.

Sarah P - Movin On

Really encouraging signs from fledgling acoustic starlet's first single.

The Last Days of 1984 - Rivers Edge

The Last Days of 1984 are Dublin duo Darren Maloney and Brian Rice. Appeared as if by nowhere with a killer single 'Rivers Edge' and performed live for the first time on the 9th of July, Last Days of 1984 are a twister of excitement. Their synth pop sound is 'so hot right now', it flirts between the playful 'spring-break' sound of Animal Collective and the 80's revivalism of The Horrors material. It's easy to see a swell of interest swallow these guys up, all the finger on the pulse blogs love this sound. It will be interesting to see these guys progression over the next year. Check out their first single River's Edge that we have streaming for you below.

This week I bare the fruits of my glorious labour throughout the week. I've been rutting through the BBC Introducing Uploader, Facebook, blogs and various bins to bring you the freshest smelling acts that Ireland has to offer. Here they are

******************************************

Rob Terry - Wired

Non instrument playing, composer of jacked up dance and chilled out beats.

Wicked Child - Cutting Edge

Infectious falsetto féted acoustic pop painted on a canvas of synthetic beats.

East Island City

Emo pop punk from Dublin.

East Island City are Greg, Steve, Stephen, Andrew and Matt one of the newest additions to Dublin's thriving emo scene. They have carved out an impressively propulsive trajectory within the last two years, landing themselves some lip smacking support slots with the likes of Framing Hanley, My Passion and Twin Atlantic. Like their Dublin contemporaries and ATL buddies Jody Has A Hitlist, the guys have an impressive online presence with a very young but scarily enthusiastic fanbase. Their debut EP is available now for free download from their Music Glue website - https://www.musicglue.com/eastislandcity
